I have a '98 Impreza RS, its the Rally Blue color with the gold rims. Does anybody know how many cars like mine are in the US?

I'd like to know how many 2.5 rs's were made as well, although I think you're wanting to know about the 98 model. Don't quote me, but I think all total from 98-01, there were roughly 15,000 made. I'm probably dead wrong, and I've that "rough" number from somewhere. Also, I think Subaru limits their car production to save the quality so the parts can be better!

in 98, there were only a couple thousand, IIRC, like 2 or 3 grand

iirc, all imprezas are made in japan in one factory. i'd say thats a factor in why there arent an overwhelming amount of imprezas around

I'm pretty sure that their was just under 2000 units made that year. Ina few years the RS will be rather hard to come by since the production #s never really went much past that.

I know I read somewhere 99-01 they made 5,000 a year. Not too sure about the 98's though.:p

yeah, if it's a green 5 speed (we went over this in NESIC once), there were like 150 or so of them made.

If you can get one of those, DO IT! :)

When I first found out about the 2.5RS, I wanted a green one with gold wheels more than anything! Buy that thing and take good care of it.:)

impreza's are a low volume car because not many people are willing to sacrifice the things that come with most $20k cars, like nice, roomy interiors, for AWD and a big spoiler. Think about it, it's AWD, but you can't (gracefully) put a pair of skis in it. :confused:

subaru only sold 15,000 impreza rs's in the us because they could only find fifteen thousand people who thought an impreza rs was worth what they were asking.

on the other hand, we are the people who made that irrational decision, and it is that bond that holds this club together. you guys rock!

the green is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! I was looking at one and then it sold the next day :( But i got my '01 instead.

:o hopefully in the next years to come subaru will realize to use a higher quality of paint and stop using champion spark plugs.
