A girl that I work with, who I drove around to all the parks...I work for Parks & Rec here....would never say anything but "sweet" while I slid around turns on the twisties....she was cool.

My girlfriend has grown to love my car at least I think she has since she has a 2000 Celica GT-S she is and enthusiast for imports (IS 300 supra’s and since her boss has one a S-4’s good taste?) But tends to look down on domestics she’s all about speed and power but a nice SLP TA would not even turn her head but I am slowly bringing here around. I think the RS has grown on her a little.

p-car... part of the reason is that you live in Socal where material things are very important. But look on the bright side you live in an area where there are tons of hot girls. I lived on right on the beach in Balboa. Oh the Socal girls love them or not... just tell them that you have a nicer ride at home and come over and you'll show it to them. ;)

Why don't you just tell her the truth, she obviosly has bad taste! That fact is, most women are not car enthusiasts and don't really understand people who are. That, and the fact that it's all a matter of taste. Heck I knew a hot girl who thought Saab's were great looking cars! :lol: I've had plenty of people tell me my car is ugly, or "stubby" looking. I just ignore them. I bought my car for me, not to impress anybody.

Honestly, i get more complements from Merc and Bimmer drivers and such, and rice burners just sneer at me! In fact not to dable into street racing any but, honda and acura guys wont run with me but, a v12 merc convertible with a 50-60 year old guy in it gave me a thumbs up one day on the highway and wanted to race, we did and I think you all know the outcome..........

Just last night I had a girl in my car and she asked me what kind of car it is. I told her and she said the same thing "it's cute". The hurt a bit, but as the night went on she said nice things about it so I could tell she liked it.

My fiancee' hated my car at first. Dunno why. But now she loves the friggin' thing. Dunno why either. She also knows when I'm outside her house. She can distinguish mine between those other ricey sounding cars that pass by. She's also thinking about getting a Rex when she has enough dough. We'll be married anytime soon so we'll share eachother's rides. No problem :devil:

Fortunately, everyone I've talked to love my car. My gf thinks it's mean, especially w/the mesh grill, bumper conversion, and the RB5; she thinks the hood scoop and vents are what made my car looks very aggressive (like tempting others for a race always). Now with the exhaust, she thinks it's a devil. :D I love her!

Now for the cute thing, I think only 2 reasons:
1) People just like to use the word cute, even for no reason. They might wanna said cool, but ended up stated cute. Girls/Japanese are most common in this case.
2) The girls want a ride, and actually referring themselves IN the car; cute car = cute girl. She is cute, so she deserves to be riding (or driving) in a car she likes.

For guys, most of them will ask: Dammmn nice looking car you got there; is it turbo (or twin)?

Plus its a few different colors. :lol:

The only way I can get a second look when driving my RS is to get their attention with the blow off valve.

The girls become perplexed and the guys just and point and giggle, which is of course not the desired response :rolleyes:

Besides, being married, my main objective is to keep the car so offensive that my wife wont want to drive it. It kinda goes like this...

"So honey, first make sure the boost controller is set for low setting, then pop the low switch out, turn it full counterclockwise, push it back in, just in case I had the low boost knob turned up to 12 psi. Okay, now see the injector controller? Yeah, the silver box with the pretty lights. Make sure both the injector knobs are both at 11:00 o'clock, no that's the radio volume, look here. Now, this is the EGT gauge. If the temp climbs past the dial, you just cooked the motor, so back off the gas when it hits 1,500 or add some fuel with this knob here. No, not that knob, that'll go to high boost. Since you're there now, to be on the safe side, be sure to also set the high boost switch to low boost by popping the button out and rotating it counter clockwise and popping it back in, but to be on the safe side, then turn it off so you'll only see 4 psi boost which is lower boost. No, that's the cigarette lighter. So, now when you gas it with boost controller off and it bogs down above 5,000 rpm then you have too much fuel and need to turn down the fuel injectors because the injector controller doesn't like switching from 12 psi to 4 psi with the same gain settings. No, that will just make the AC colder. Now, if you hear detonation, then pop open the glove box and see that APEXi ITC there, with the five knobs? Right, you gotta pop out the 4,000 rpm knob and rotate it counter clockwise 1 click, then do the same for the 5,000 and 7,000 rpm knobs, then pop them back in, and don't worry about the CE light, it does that when you have the ITC plugged in. Detonation? Well, um... It sounds like BB's in a coffee can. No, those are individual coffee grounds filter packs you have there, they don't make noise if you put BB's in them. Comprende? Now, you can start the car."

It also helps to keep the coilovers turned up full stiff, then they really don't want to drive the car and you have it all to yourself :D

I got a BAD(ish) comment yesterday! I was driving by one of my sisters freinds yesterday, I just put on my 15" Forester steelies and winter tires..."oohh, thats your car! To start my wife grew up with pick-up trucks all of her life so naturally when we got her a new car she wanted a pick-up. I could not see paying the gas mileage on a truck while living in the city not really using it for what it was meant for...OFFROAD!!!!! We finally compromised on a '96 Cherokee Sport. She drove it for 3 months and decided that it must not be for her because she rolled it 3 times down the interstate. She was okay of course.


Now she did not want another vehicle that was off the ground. When you need 4WD and you can't have anything that is on a truck chasis and all of the other cute-utes make you want to puke, What do you purchase??? Of course a Subie. I drove by the Subie dealership 3 days after her accident and noticed a Blue '97 OBS on the lot. I know...you wanted a Wagon...Why not an RS? Answer is we have 3 large Black Labs and they just would not look good in a RS. Hell, We have leather in the other vehicle and they can't come within miles of that.


That night after I picked my wife up from work I took her by the dealership to look at the car. Do you know what her first impression was? "That car looks like a Rice Rocket on Steroids. What is up with the scoop on the front?" To make a long story short, once she drove the car she loved it. She missed the power of her 210hp Cherokee, but the Subie was peppy. 2 years later and a lot of money, cursing, sweat, and blood the OBS is just 5 hp shy of the cherokee rating at the wheels, and NO I do not have a turbo. Now that the Rice Rocket runs on Spicy Rice and need to make the body match the engine or maybe just leave it a sleeper...we shall see.

One of my really good female friends always said 'i love being seen in your car cause everyone stares (at her or the car i'm not sure). And others have called it really 'cool' or 'badass'. Of course even after 2 and a half years I still check out my own car and admire it as if it belonged to someone else, i can't get enough of it. Hows that narcissism for ya? :D

I was going out with a girl...first time she saw my car and rode in it she didn't even say a thing about it (Momo seats, RB5 wing, gagues, etc etc :)) I was a little dissapointed. Finally after a few times she started asking more question, mainly why it felt so fast ;) and what was that loud "phhsssssttt" sound. BUT her sister and sisters friend all thought I drove a rice rocket :( Finally she said she couldn't picture me driving something like that, she pictured me more in a Neon or Cavelier :D

I remember when I first got my RS, some people gave me dirty looks and asked me why the hell did I get a Subaru for! Most of this was coming from the Honda/Toyota guys. I'll just ask them why the hell did they get that ugly hair cut. There was a girl at a gas station a couple weeks ago that said my car looks nice but too bad I couldn't say the same for her :lol: ;)
