View Full Version : Wow, beware of leaning up against your car...
Eric SS 11-04-2001, 01:07 PM The sheetmetal fenders in our car is extremly flimsy! I put my knee against my front fender last night and now I have this huge dent there!
I can;t believe Subaru used suck thin metal. Just a word of warning :)

8Complex 11-04-2001, 03:00 PM Yup, I tell people to get off my fenders all the time. Stick to the doors and you should be ok, but keep away from the rear fenders as well, they're just as thin.
*shrug* Thats what makes the car light, I guess. :)
the_gille 11-04-2001, 03:21 PM I just learned that the other day, I have two small dents in my front fender from leaning on it.

Czubaka 11-04-2001, 04:14 PM Yup, did that when I put the Ver 5 suspension in. It's on the front driver's side so I get to see what an idiot I was every time I get in the car. I really should get that fixed...

Impreza25RS 11-04-2001, 04:31 PM The fenders on Subarus are definately junk. My friend hit my passenger side front fender with a water balloon and completely trashed the fender. It was bad enough where it had top be replaced. Subaru fenders and paint are definately weak....they should fix that...

bensonwrx 11-04-2001, 05:07 PM Not to mention my soft backpack bumped on the rear fender one time, and it's automatically scratched up...sigh, what kind of paint is that?
Kyle, you are right that us MY98 owners should unite :D

water balloon? damn how high was it dropped--10 stories? what was it side of it--lead paint?
Impreza25RS 11-05-2001, 01:42 AM HAHA thats what everyone says when I say a water balloon trashed my car. It was just from 2 stories up and my buddy said it wasnt even that big. He was trying to hit me and missed. I guess Im glad it hit my car becuase it probably would have broken my neck seeing what it did to my car!

JaiMak 11-05-2001, 02:02 AM Water balloon- now that's funny.
But hey, you drive a car with AWD for less than 20K, which happens to be more or less fully loaded, the cost cutting goes somewhere..
Me, I'm repainting the car with enough paint to fend of the apocalypse, during a hurricane, in a lumber yard.
toerag 11-05-2001, 06:33 AM You also have to watch that the rivets on your jeans don't scratch the paint either!!
bsquare 11-05-2001, 08:25 AM My left front fender seems to act as a dent magnet. I've taken the car to Dent Wizard twice for dents in exactly the same place, and now they are back!
The paint is some of the worst ever put on a production car. I'm considering getting the whole thing repainted with quality stuff (and so I can transform magically into Blue Ridge Pearl).

yups i have blue rally--love and don't notice dents and scratches as much as you guys--i know it's still there though; it;s just easily hidden
