so I bought the cage from the seller on OCT. 1 , and the seller (Dan) told me that he will ship the cage ASAP. what happened is he said it cost him too much for the shipping so he would refund my money ($515). so after all the crap and b****s*** that he told me. I filed a claim with Paypal. afterthat, he told me that Paypal tried to screw him because they held all the money. I just had a phone call with Paypal agents and she said that the seller (Dan) took all the money away already... so yeah... **** all this crap and you better give me my money back or send me the cage...

update... decided to call the cops if the seller either not contacting me or don't want to resolve this problem in a week (Nov. 15)

well Paypal sent him some emails asking him what happened (after I filed a claim) and he never replied them... and also, I checked on my bank account and on my paypal account. I lost $515... and Paypal told me that Dan had the money on his account. oh well. we'll see what happened with Paypal tomorrow.

That's why you gotta buy things with your credit card. That way you can just call them up and do a charge back if paypal can't get your money back. I always pay with my credit card via paypal because of this...

so okay... I did give him some time to refund my money back... but the after 3 weeks, the money that he promised never came, so I asked him. How come he just found out that I had insufficient fund AFTER 3 weeks?? LOL... and the thing about paypal refund my money when I had nothing is BS... I'll post his PM about not shipping the item...

im pretty sure with paypal your account goes negative when you have insufficient funds, and it will email you that you have a negative balance, the person reciveing the money should still get money added to his bank but the buyer will remain in negative funds...So what im trying to say is buyer had $0, and bought this cage. now he is at -$$515, and seller is at +$515. the only problem is that paypal will charge you an overdraw fee and the buyer will end up paying like 10% more...Thats what it was like about 1 year ago when i was working with EBAY. could have changed.

The first line says you paid someone 515 and your paypal balance is $0.00. then because you had no funds you added $150, just in case...


The final line states that you have a blance of $515 again after the transaction, so im not sure whether the funds got rejected or something happened...I could easily Edit that to, but according to what you posted it looks like the money was refunded.
Im not taking sides on this one im just pointing something out, it could be a PAypal error...Who knows

i never got this guys money...i never tried to destroy anything he built the whole problem is that i never recieved the money...it was never transferred from his account...and im not going anywhere either...scammers dont stick by they leave

The first line says you paid someone 515 and your paypal balance is $0.00. then because you had no funds you added $150, just in case...


The final line states that you have a blance of $515 again after the transaction, so im not sure whether the funds got rejected or something happened...I could easily Edit that to, but according to what you posted it looks like the money was refunded.
Im not taking sides on this one im just pointing something out, it could be a PAypal error...Who knows

so I had $364.83 on my Paypal account... and it wasn't enough to pay Dan which is $515. so Paypal automatically pull some money from my bank account and made it $515 and then sent it to Dan, that's why my balance is $0 :)

Paypal is a big problem in this equation! They should never let someone go into the negative when money from their accnt system is overdrawn. They should simply not transfer the funds because its not available. (But then they woulnt make any money by wacking us poor suckers with that 10% overage fee, rotten fu**ers) They are not insured for stolen money (FDIC) they are not a bank so they shouldnt keep policies like one! Read their policies carefully one day, it states if money is withdrawn from a bank account in error they have up to 180 days to resolve the issue. So if they take like $1500 from your acct in error they can make you wait 6 months until you get it back. I cant wait until Google releases their online payment service. One thing I would never do is keep money in the paypal account, this is like handing it over to them to do what they wish. What everyone should do when dealing through P.P. is create a seperate checking accnt at their bank, keep like $10 in it to keep in open but never more than that. When you need to pay through P.P. transfer money from your main checking acct to the "empty paypal" one and set up P.P. to withdraw from that acct using a Credit Card. By the way most debit cards are part of the Visa network so they fall under the same protetion as a regular Credit Card.

yeah... all bad lucks just came to me this week... :( blew my skyline motor, lost $515, and Bank of America called me yesterday just to let me know that someone broke into my account and took $700 away... :(

I have never needed to put money into my Paypal account. Whenever I purchase something, Paypal automatically deducts the exact amount from my bank account and sends it to the seller's account.
It doesn't sound like a scam to me, it just sounds like he spent the money before he knew he couldn't afford to ship it.

Sttay on this, the cops are your friends here. Call his local police, makes it easier. I just went through the exact same thing, finally got the $ $535 back from the sellers father. Then the DA didnt want to charge the Shiothead, I went to the local news and guess what the DA has reopened the investigation.
The kid emailed me telling me he scammed me overe and over, he used AKA's and all, but the police said he never committed a crime before so they didnt want to hurt his record.
I told everybody Police, Investigator and Da I would go to the Local News, guess they didnt believe me until the news team van showed up at the county building.
We pay some loser detectives a salary. He did nothing, I got bank records names and everything,

so I bought the cage from the seller on OCT. 1 , and the seller (Dan) told me that he will ship the cage ASAP. what happened is he said it cost him too much for the shipping so he would refund my money ($515). so after all the crap and b****s*** that he told me. I filed a claim with Paypal. afterthat, he told me that Paypal tried to screw him because they held all the money. I just had a phone call with Paypal agents and she said that the seller (Dan) took all the money away already... so yeah... **** all this crap and you better give me my money back or send me the cage...

update... decided to call the cops if the seller either not contacting me or don't want to resolve this problem in a week (Nov. 15)

thats alright, I am sure your local police can get to the bottom of it. If he's got all the paperwork right it is a misdimeanor offense because of the $ amount.Scammers still stay around and scam because thats what they do best. If the story is correct you should have/ could have just refunded him the $ and he wouldnt post scammer threads about you.
The scammer always blames the victom until they get shook up by the law.

It all depends on the state that takes the case, this is the problem with internet fraud.
It also depends on the actual charge some of the charges that the person who scammed me are possibly facing are;

Theft by deception - Felony in NY, luckily he lives 70 miles from me
Petit larceny- Misdem. in NY $1000 or less
Postal Money Order Fraud- Felony $500+ Fed Offense
mail Fraud-Felony Fed Offense

There are several other charges that I had to ask about. The nice thing about my case is that the kid is 17 and in NY is treated as an adult. however if charged at 17 his records would be expunged at 18. He turns 18 not so long, if charged after 18 the records are permanent. (Great)
The DA called me again yesterday to let me know that she has not forgotten me and that the 'Detective" is still gathering info.
thats what happens when you use the news media when the DA's do not think they want to charge someone even after they email you that they have scammed you and you will get no money back ect.
I want this kid to pay even though his father did refund my money.$435 just because he was so arrogant towards scamming me. They are also Muslims and if he was in his country he would have his arm chopped off. ( Thats what his father said he wanted to do to him). His father was a nice person, however I will not sit back and let some person walk just because he had no priors.

Incorrect, just because it left the state does not make it a Fed offense.
The Fed offense comes in if you could find a DA that would prosecute the perp under the mail fraud act, the Post Office is part of the Fed Gov. However as I have stated very hard, you have to push DA's to get them to even charge anyone with crimes like ours.
