One of the benfits of tunning a car with Meth/Distilled injection is being able to lean the car out. I have read that 11 to 5 is good. My tuner has told me that he was able to tune my car to 12 to 0. Is that leaner than the 11 to 5? I owuld love to have anybody drop some knowledge on me about AFR's and Advancing/Retartding timeing. I searched and didn't come up with much.

uh.... Normally 14.7 to 1 on petrol is stoich. This means that at that air to fuel ratio, in a perfect world, all the oxygen and petrol will mix and be used fully in combustion. With a/f ratios which are leaner(ie 15 or 16 or whatever to 1), there will be oxygen left over after combustion because there isn't enough petrol to burn it fully. With richer a/f ratios(ie 14, 13, 12 to 1 and so on), there will be fuel left over after combustion because there isn't enough air to use all the fuel. That's the difference between richness and leanness.

When people talk about it in different degrees though, they aren't actually saying that one has air left over and one has fuel. They're just saying that one is further in one direction then the other. Yes, 12 to 1 is leaner then 11.5 to 1. With injection, it's not so simple though.

You're injecting alc on top of petrol, and it takes more alc to get a given a/f reading then petrol. Ie, the reading might show 12 to 1, but you might be running more liquid then if you ran a reading of 11.5 to 1 on pure petrol. At the same time, you have water in the mix. I'm not sure if this does anything to the reading, but I don't think so. If it doesn't, that would mean that you could be running much more liquid then before with a leaner reading. Ya might wanna look into how your injection and fuel systems to determine how much liquid your running compared to before to determine how efficiently you're using your injection system, and if it's running the way you want.

Pretty much what I was looking for
Thanks

My tuner has told me that he was able to tune my car to 12 to 0.Who's your tuner? I would love to meet a tuner who can get a lot of power out of my car while using no fuel whatsoever!! :D I assume by 11 to 5 and 12 to 0 you (or the tuner) meant 11.5:1 or 12:1.

I knew that was coming! I mant 11.5 to 1 and 12 to 1
