28k?

Probably just WRX with STi's Brembos and the 17"s on the four corners.

But seriously, I wish it'll be that cheap. Most of the rumors I heard are that it'll be between 30~35k. Not cheap, but about right for the stuffs you get on top of standard wrx. Well, that is if US spec is the same as UK or Jpn spec.

Assuming it'll have Brembos, 17"s, HID, new AVCS engine, 6spd MT, aluminum arms, large I/C, sports seats and a bunch of this and that...

It won't be cheap and it won't be common. Figure $32K, 1000 per year. IF it comes at all. Remember, after the initial demand, WRX sales have tapered off significantly. My local dealer has 15 on the lot, and straight-up OFFERED $500 over invoice. That was their first offer, so they're hot to move the inventory. If Subaru doesn't sell all the WRXs for the very first year it is available, count on the STi NOT making an appearance and the future of hot Subes to be in jeopardy.

Didn't someone post a left hand drive STi. No point in building one of those unless you plan on bringing it to the states. I say price of about $32-$35K. I plan on buying one! WOO HOO!

I think they're here now. Give your dealer a call and tell him your neighbors sisters friends mechanics uncles godfather who once walked by a Subaru dealership definitely thought he heard that they had some in the back, but they weren't supposed to tell anyone because they were saving them waiting for them to get real popular so they could charge thousands over the $22,000 sticker price.

there's no way the STi will come over as a 2003 model.

they need to see the market for the car first, and they are not about to base it on 7 months of sales. They will wait to see how the 2003's do, and if it's good enough for them, only then will the STi come over.

I've also read that SOA said how soon the STI is released here will depend on how popular/mainstream rally will have become as a motorsport in the US.

I bet it also depends on mitsubishi. And they have just stepped up and are funding Rhys Millen's factory sponsored evo, and have said the evo will be here state side oct 02. So I bet that SOA won't allow mitsu to have the more powerful car for too long. All I know is that I have been to many dealerships in three states and none of those guys can keep a wrx on the lot for more than a week or so. I have to wait two weeks till I can test drive one again. Need to drive one once in a while, till the STi comes out.
