I'm wondering if anybody knows anything about the 2003 WRX. I did a search (here and google), but didn't come up with anything. I am wondering if I should wait it out or get one soon. So, anyone know when it will be released and what will be different? Any hope of a 6-speed? Thanks for the help.

See the other rumour threads about the 2003/2004 STi that will be coming here. That's the way you'll get a 6 spd. tranny.

You won't see that many changes in the WRX for MY2003. Perhaps some small cosmetic changes or manufacturing changes to improve the existing car or to aid in the actual manufacturing process (those you won't hear about...typically cost savings methods.)

I'd like to see a change/addition of the dark blue that the TS model is offered in to the WRX colour choices. IMO, much better than the WRB (although WRB is a classic colour.)

That thread didn't seem to mention when the 2003 models will be released. I called up SOA today, and the representative said information on MY2003 would likely be released in the summer, though he didn't seem to sure about it. Am i to understand that it is very unlikely that the 2003 WRX will have a 6-speed? Thanks.

The six speed is only offered on STi models in other markets, I can think of no reason that Subaru would offer it in North America.

I think there will be few options to choose from. I think they are very interested in keeping demand for the STI high and as long as the WRX is considered a good buy I think the few new options will be things like cosmetic upgrades, maybe a sunroof, but definitly not a 6speed mt.

I'd say early fall (September) for the MY03 cars. It's not a special release car next year so it should come out the same time the rest of the Subaru line.

I'd imagine that the MY03 WRX will get the front grille change like the 02 Jspec and maybe the Jspec sunroof and the revamped gearing like the AU-spec car got.
