Beware,
I would wait to see how my trasaction plays out before you buy anything from this member.
I paid him last Thursday for the BBK $1575 for both front and rears. He told me he would send it out on Friday and pm me a tracking #. Then Friday I get a PM from another member here that says he is having a problem with the Teins. He said that the seller put them outside and they were stollen. I then call the seller and he told me the story about the Teins and says my brakes will be sent on Monday.
Monday I emailed him and he told me he would get them out Tuesday and would have me a tracking # by Tuesday night or this morning.
Well the morning came and went and I received no email. I emailed him twice and PM'd him. I see that he was here at 1:22pm today so I know he got his PM. I also filed a PayPal dispute and will be calling his local police station Friday morning on this guy. The $ amount makes it a Felony. I told him on the paypal dispute that he can either send me a good tracking number or a full refund to fix the situation.
$1575 is way too much to let this go on without public notice.

Yeah... report it to local law enforcement... they'll tell you to report it to the FBI... there's a link that can be found on the FBI's website for situations like this.

Hopefully this is all a misundertanding and will be resolved without any that being needed though.

Update, well he finally sent me an email with a tracking number. The tracking number says it has been processed and is enroute.
I will update everyone once I receive the package and it is as he listed and told me.
I have been in this situation twice on NASIOC and once on EBAY and I can tell you $1575 is nothing to play around with, esp. when promisses are made. That's why I had to contact everyone.
I am still optimistically cautious about the transaction, hopefully all will turn out well.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving Day or whatever you celebrate to all.

Best of luck with this trans dibblejr. I'm the one who was trying to buy the teins and was strung along for a few weeks. I was then told that they were stolen. It could be true but i'm skeptical b/c he never complied to request of additional pics, etc. Just want to give a heads up to any people that are potentially interested in the teins as i was told that they were "stolen". I'm not trying to bash anyone, but just getting the info out there.

Happy turkey day everyone.

Yeah, thanks for the PM last Friday. Like I said he sent me a tracking # finally. I will update everyone once I get the package and it contains everything it is suppossed to.
Even after you told me your story I tried to be optimistic about the $ I had already paypal'd to him.
I hope this all ends well.

Another update;

Tonight I get a PM from him that says he sent me a tracking number but didnt receive any money. I dont know what kind of crap he is trying to pull here.
He also sent me an email asking me to clear the dispute with Paypal because it is showing him with negative funds in his paypal account.
I am not going to clear up the paypal dispute until I receive the BBK, because once I close it I cannot reopen another claim with this transaction. If he didnt send me the full kit, or it is trashed or it is not even my tracking number I lose $1575.
Just to let the NASIOC community know that he did receive the payment here is the paypal confirmation message.

The seller posted a message on Paypal telling me he didnt receive the $, he was paid on the 17th, I filed my dispute on the 22nd. As my last post shows he got paid on the 17th.
He also tried to threaten me by saying that if I didnt close the dispute by Saturday that he would cancel the shipment.
My reply to him was if he canxd the shippment and I dont get a full refund that I would contact his local police and file a complaint. The $ ammount makes this transaction a Felony.
I told him if he scanned me a copy of the USPS invoice/ receipt and I could tell that it is actually a BBK by the weight and size of the box I would consider canx the dispute.
Like I have said he was paid and confirmed to me that he received the payment on the 17th. He also promissed to send the BBK on the 18th and that didnt happen, I spoke with him on Monday the 21 and he still did not send it. He promissed on Monday that he would for sure send me a Tracking # Tuesday morning yet he did not answer any emails or PM's until I filed the dispute with paypal.
My reputation for being a buyer and seller here, EBAY and confirmed Paypal transactions speak for themselves.
$1575 is way too much not to keep the buyer informed with what is going on and breaking promisses is a start to things going wrong.

I thought so also, then I spoke with him on the phone. Plus there was a problem with NASIOC, in the beginning it showed he just joined and only had 19 posts mostly dealing with this sale.
Then it showed he has like 1,9.. some posts and some sales, so I felt better about the purchase.
Whenever you buy anything from anyone including venders here you take a chance, we all understand this.
But it pays to stay on top of people like this.
He has emailed me over night and told me he will give me a copy of the USPS receipt, I will be calling him once again today.
I paid him $75 for shipping, I sent a short block a week ago to Utah for less than $75 3 day DHL and it arrived at its destination on time, so $75 should have been plenty to ship the BBK 3 day priority. Everyone that I have sold items too will say that they have always gotten their items within 3 days with the exception of Canadian customers, we cant control customs. Its just safer to send 3 day priority. Makes for better customer relations.

Thanks

You cannot make a police report until a crime has been committed such as;

Item not received, item not received as described ect.
I have just been through this with a young man that lives only 60 miles from me. He now is facing charges of Theft By Deception, US Mail Fraud, Credit Card Fraud and other charges. The DA is trying to get him a 13 year combination charge, some jail and some probation as a plea.

Its been over a week already, shouldnt that warrant enough time to file a report? I dont want this scammer to skip out on ya, especially with that sum of money...

dibblejr
11-24-2006, 01:49 PM
Nope. A crime has not been comitted. Now since he said that he has sent it and it gets here incomplete ect. or it is not the tracking number for me ( if the tracking number he provided to me shows delivered but not to my address) then it becomes a crime.
The last person even went as far as sending me a message that "he scammed me, I would not see my item or my money, he said " I gave him the money". that is why the DA is pushing for that amount of time.
You actually have to prove top the police that a crime has been comitted or else they will just say it is a civil case. Thats what happened to me this last time, then I took it to the local newspaper before the DA took the case.
Hell the police went to his house and he told them he didnt know anything about the sale or payment, however 2 days before that he put the $ in his bank account. So he lied to the police which brought him an additional charge.

ok, Back on topic, when is the deadline you have set till you can file a report?

2 weeks? 3 weeks?

dibblejr
11-24-2006, 03:03 PM
Well, as far as a deadline. The seller has sent me a tracking number, I will daily check the status.
Once I receive the package and inspect it, if everything is included I will post it here and I will have a great outcome.
If the tracking number shows delivered and it is not at my house, that is when I will contact my connection at the USPS headquarters in St. Louis and see where the package was delivered and contact that person to find out what it was.
At that time I will contact his local police and start a report. I will also contact the ICW Internet Crime Watch and file a complaint, they are ran by the FBI.
I will also go to my local poice to open a report. The police can get a lot of inter agency info that the average person cannot get.
After that it is in the arms of the law, but as I said before you really have to keep on them tp do a proper investigation. At anytime I feel they are not doing a good investigation I will take it to the media. TV stations and Newspapers have investigative journalists who love to put the police to shame.
As in the case above, I pretty much handed the sherriffs dept the entire investigation on a silver platter. Then they thought by getting me a refund from the scammers father that the case was closed. I told them that if they closed the case I would go to the media because a crime was committed and for 2 months I was out my money and parts. After going to the media and giving the editor all the police and DA names I got a call from the DA saying she was going to have the detectives reopen the case and persue charges.
Great outcome to my story. The same action that I promissed this seller and the previuos Masioc member.
The previous NASIOC member woke up and then sent me my headers, another great outcome.
Hopefully I will get my BBK as it was listed within the next week so I can close this dispute.

Not yet, I spoke with him on the phone and he told me some more stuff that doesnt quite pan out.
I still will give him the benefit of the doubt, he is suppossed to be emailing me the receipts from USPS. He gave me one tracking #, but told me on the phone that he shipped in 2 boxes, which would mean 2 tracking numbers. He also told me he refunded my $ through paypal, however I contacted them and they said he didnt.
I gave him some instructions that paypal said he had to do to refund the $. He said that when I get the BBK I can pay him -100 for the hard time.
I told him I am an honest man and that when I receive the BBK I will give him the full 1575, as long as he refunded the $.
I cant wait to see how this all plays out.
Thanks D

Things happen so fast, as soon as I posted that thread he calls me and said that he spelled my street address wrong. Now how can you get a Paypal invoice and spell the street wrong? I even sent him a pm telling him my address so he could prepare the shipping labels ahead of time.

Last update, it's getting old.
So the seller calls me and asks me for my name and address, he says he spelled my street name wrong. This is after he received an email with my info and said he boxed, labeled it and would ship it on the 18th, and the paypal invoice which clearly also has my name and address.
A couple hours later he sent me an email with two receipts both dated for today and he spelled my name all F-d up.
So I sent him another email asking(telling him) that he has spelled my name wrong and that he gave me a tracking number 2 days ago and asked him about that.
I have asked a mod from his region to post this in the scammer central 3 days ago and it is still not posted there.
What a bunch of crap, so the dramma continues. There is no way for me to verrify the info that he has provided to me.

Paypal's already put a hold on the transaction and I have once again emailed him. If he really truly is a man of his word like he told me on the phone he will refund the payment by clicking on the dispute, refund. Then like he said when I get them I can pay him.
We will see, in a few days what is going on. I have until 8 Dec before I escalate this and contact the police unless the $ gets back in my account and or I get the BBK.
I have already been able to get his address and his relatives address so I or the police can always contact them and let them know if he scams me. That worked on the last scam.

Update;

I just received an email from paypal where he has refunded my money, thus the dispute was automatically closed.
The seller kept his final word. Now when the BBK reaches my house I will pay him his full price. Yesterday he told me I could subtract $100 for the trouble, but I am also a man of my word and will pay him exactly what we agreed on.
I will update once I receive the BBK and pay him his $.
As far as right now I am satisfied with the outcome, and whatever the problem he was having with me, it's all good.
At least he turned out to be honest, the $ is not back in my account yet, but it is a saturday so I guess Monday it will be placed back in my account.

Its all good man.

Since you got them see if anyone will buy them from you. That may be the easiest way out.
Dont forget the feedback.

He's an intersting one b/c i was supposed to buy these. He strung me along for a couple of weeks, and when i got on him about the shipping he said they were stolen. I pm'd you if you want to sell them. Best of luck resolving this.

He sent me the Tein Coilovers, only problem is when I talked to him on the phone he said they were off a 06 sti. Well, I got them, and no wrenches were included, and they were for 02+ wrx not sti! What they heck do I do now?

Sti-izzlw,
Whats the latest, did you sell the coilovers to ikhahn? I am still awaiting the other two tracking numbers he gave me. They are still showing not delivered so maybe I will be lucky and receive the BBK.
You can bet I will be video recording the boxes if and when I receive them from the reception through the unpacking. I hope he didnt send me stockers, oh well if he did he will get them back.

None, the tracking numbers he sent me 1 of the three was delivered to another member and belonged to the coilovers and the other 2 are still showing as accepted at the PO in California, so they are still somewhere in shipping.
If I receive them I am going to video tape the opening of the boxes just in case they are not what he said, as were the coilovers.
I am glad this is the last thing that I have to buy for the ride to complete my modding except for a front and rear lip which are on order from Japan.

Ok here is an update;

I received Box # 1 today, I video taped the opening and inventory of the box here's what was inside. There was no packing materials so a lot of the caliper paint was gone from rubbing on the rotors, there was only one piece of cardboard seperating the two rotors.
1) Rotora Front Rotor
1) Rotora Rear Rotor
1) Rotora Rear Caliper
1) Bag with sticker and paperwork

I cant wait to see what box #2 has in it. It should have 1-Rear Caliper, 2-Front Calipers, 1-Front Rotor, 1-Rear Rotor and stainless steel brake lines for all four.

Hopefully this will turn out ok and everything will be in box #2.

*********UPDATE**********

Well box # 2 came in today and I am not the happiest person. Once again there was no packing on anything, everything was just thrown in the box.
Once again I recorded the entire opening of the box.
One rotor(rear) is so dinged up that it cannot be turned. The rotors are $164 each.
Here is a copy of the email that I sent the seller, basically I have told him to refund me for a set of Rotors ( not good to replace just one) or I will send his kit back.
He also did not include SS Brake Lines, he put stockers in the box.
Below is a pick of the rotor.

Sam,
OK, box #2 got here today before I have to leave for the hospital. There is a problem.
Dude, you didnt even try to pack them up to keep them safe. When you bought them I am sure they were packed correctly as to not damage anything.
I have one rotor (rear) that is banged up beyond repair, it cannot be turned. I have video taped the entire shipment to record how this deal went. On Rotoras website the rotors sell for 163.99 ea. the only propper way to change rotors are with a set. Here is the price from rotora.com
Impreza WRX Rear, 02
$ 163.99 ea

You also did not ship the stainless steel brake lines that come with rotora BBK's.
We have 2 choices here. You can give me a discount to replace the damaged rotors which would come up to $327.98, or I can send the complete kit back to you the way that you shipped them to me, and I can cut my loss.
If you give me the discount I will paypal you $1247.02, let me know. I have included a picture of the rotor so you know I am honest.
I am not going to charge you for not including the ss lines just because I want to get the deal completed so that we can get past it.

Let me know.

Well he replied to my email and agreed to discount me the $ for the rotors. He apologized for the inconvienience.
At least I got most of the kit, minus the brackets for the front and the brake lines. I have emailed rotaro and asked them the price of the lines and the brackets. I will just cut my loss for this since this is my final step to the car.
I still have not been able to pay him since he has a new paypal account and I couldnt reach him on the phone. Hopefully he will email me so I can send him the $.
It worked out pretty good even though as many of you have mentioned yes I wasted a lot of time on this simple transaction, but shiot happens. I cant let it stress me too much.
I will leave him neutral feedback that's fair enough.

Once again thanks for everyones support on this.
