So I recently hit 80k miles. I plan on doing all the following maintenance.
Quaker State Q oil + OEM Filter + Crush Gasket
Cocktail in transmission
K&N Drop in filter
Those I've done and I am comfortable with. I need tips for doing the following;
Fuel Filter replacement using oem filter - any tips? I have the service manual
Diff fluid replacment - what fluid do i use?
Clean MAF - Any tips?
Clean IAC - Any tips? I foudn the write up
My major concern is spark plugs. What spark plugs do I go with? OEM or something else? Also how do i go about gapping them and replacing them?

!!!!!!!!!!skip the k&n filter....they filter NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pure junk, all marketing hype
NGK BKR6E plugs...gap at .030"
read diff.....a syn lube may give a bit better mpg....M1 75w90
MAF....put in a ziplok bag with 4-5oz rubbing alcohol in it----shake for 1 minute....take out of bag and let air dry for 10 minutes...re-install(a bit of grease on the o-ring to lube it)
Do NOT **** with the IAC unless it NEEDS it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Fuel Filter - I took mine off the clamp that holds it in place. Then pulled off the two hoses/cables (can't remember right now) that are attached to it, then I just pulled, twisted and convinced the two hoses that connect to it to come off. Pulled the new one out and put the hoses back on. put it back in the clamp thing and put the cables/hoses back on. DONE. I didn't pull off the fuel pump fuse and let the car run till id died like some have suggested on other threads. It took two cranks but the car started right back up.
Diff fluid - make sure you can get that top bolt off before you take the bottom one off and drain. otherwise you can't refill. the fluid I'm using dino 75w90.
Clean MAF - See Scotty's suggestion.
Clean IAC - See Scotty's suggestion.
Spark Plugs - I went with stock. bought them at subaru and all four were gapped to .030. As far as removing and replacing; If you remove the intake on the passenger side it will make that side much easier to work on. On the driver side remove the washer fluid tank and battery(i didn't have to remove the battery but it gave me extra elbow room) to make it A LOT easier to work on.
Air Filter - Stock for the win!
Have fun.
