As per his ad in the Vendor forum:
NEWLY RELEASED AND READY TO SCARE YOUR NEIGHBORS!
MEGAZILLA MZ72
Our newest monster, the Megazilla MZ72 features our gigantic Tsunami 555 turbine wheel, and a truly gargantuan 72 lb/min compressor wheel. This is the largest stock location turbo in the world. IT IS NOT BOLT-ON!!! Tumble Generator Valve Deletes MUST be used and a 3 inch inlet pipe. This turbo is available in very limited quantities, and is special order only. $2195.00 + shipping.
I am still mostly stock. Posting here to get comments from the crowd. Will this compare to Element GT65 and other GT35 based turbos?
Spool? Powerband? Peak? I'm posting because I don't know jack....

<waiting for Clark to chime in that a stock location turbo is severly choked off and this wouldn't be worth it and to go with a 35R>
:)
IMHO, dealing with a stock location 3 inch inlet pipe is reason enough to go with a rotated setup, especially at this price point.

if you go with anything that big why not go with a gt30r or 35r? they are proven set up over and over again.
it seems crazy to have a turbo that big and limit yourself to a 3"inlet and the not so strait flow of the stock location.

$2200 just for the turbo :(
Throw in a few hundred for TGV deletes and another few hundred for the upgraded intake and then some for a inlet pipe then you know your most likey gonna have to upgrade to a EWG or atleast get a better actuator.... So whata have?
Answer:The price of a nice rotated turbo kit.
Nice concept i think...but boy a pricey one.

Frank. You said it... LOL.. Dont waste your money on this overpriced turbo. Just buy a complete kit or use a Frank50 or Green bolt on.

Anyone else have any more details for the MZ72? I've been watching this recently but no replies.

You would need to buy a big maf intake for this too. I'm sure a 72lb turbo will max out the maf sensor.
Many rotated kits at $3k include an intake. It's basically the same price as a rotated setup.

I was counting on that part. I'm looking to see how people think this will compare to rotated setups vs. bolt-ons. Would this turbo give similar results in whp and torque as the 30r/35r or higher? How much difference would one expect in spool compared to the rotated vs. bolt-ons?

a couple of $100's you can go rotated for that price.

I'm not wanting replies based on price as being the deciding factor. I'm wanting replies on theoretical results or actual results from new testing. I'm very aware of the pricing of the bolt-ons vs. rotated since I have been around quite a while. I'm just not seeing anyone speaking their mind on how they think this turbo will perform.

There was a thread talking about the difference of rotated vs. bolt-on turbos. I did a pretty extensive response on that thread about the differences.
The main difference is you are limited to the housing sizes of a bolt-on, and the intake design is inferior effecting overall power and spool. If you can get the same power output of a bolt-on vs. a rotated, more than likely the rotated counterpart will spool faster.
