today i took my 07 sti on a drive (about 360 miles round trip) when i stoped to get gas i herd and felt a unfamiliar grinding clunk noise when moving forward and back from a stop. I thought nothing of it until i got to where i was going and noticed it agin. This is not the normal noise u get when max turing from a stop because it din't happen max turing. I was only half turned and as i came to a stop it felt like a cv or u joint bound up in to a grind and when i backed up it popped loud. I thought the car was broken but it still drove fine, all the way home. after home i took the front wheel off and took a look nothing was visually wrong. I then took it to a parking lot near by and did numerous forward a reverse turns and could not duplicate the noise. I also power shifted a few times to beat on the cv joints but they seem to be strong. Could this be a suspension part binding when the car is at just the right angle or is it from something getting hot on a long drive? I don't under stand why I can't make the noise agin. I would like to know what it is because I am about to lower the car with some ion performance springs and i don't want the springs to be the blame if it needs warranty work.
appreciate any input thanks
