View Full Version : 105,000 mile service: Should I replace the crank/cam seals or not?

The dealer will be going in there to replace the timing belt and water pump. A few people have recommended doing the crank/cam seals while they're in there. Is it worth the extra money to have that done? Or if it aint broke don't fix it? I have done all the services BY THE BOOK and then some.

2003 Baja non-turbo 5MT.

Everything is original including the clutch. Only maintenance items like brakes, tires, filters, spark plugs, etc. have needed replacement.

This car has been very good to us.

I would change the crank seal and cam seals. In case later down the road they start to leak. Trust me I work on subaru's. I have changed many crank seals and cam seals already.
