Hello all,
I have a 02 impreza (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15929011&posted=1#),I have a problem with my headlights (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15929011&posted=1#) turning off.
The symtons goes as so,
Will turn off the turn back on when using turn signals (but not every time)
When turning lights on will turn off then turn back on (again not everytime)
I will hear a click sound like a relay turning off/on, from under dash on the passenger side.
Could someone come up with an idea what is wrong w/ my car (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15929011&posted=1#), and what i need to do to fix it.
Thanks

Sounds like the switch on your blinker stalk is bad. It least thats what I'm getting from what you are trying to explain.

I agree, classic symptoms of failed combination switch.

I don't know that part number, but the combination switch comes as a complete unit. Both stalks are included for the turn, headlight, and wipers. You can't get them seperate.

It sounds to me that the grounding for the blinkers may be bad and they are using the relay coils for the headlights to find a path to ground. Before replacing anything I would make sure that the lighting grounds are good. The clicking you are hearing may be the relays for the headlights so check the dash grounding as that may be where the problem is. Subarus use a switched ground to the headlight relays to turn on the headlights. My info shows the lighting control is behind the right kick panel. This may be where the clicking you hear is coming from. Check that area also for a bad ground.
