Is it possible to get the dccd diff in the wrx 5 speed gearbox?

Older version of the STI RA (I believe ver. 4-5-6 RA).

Actually, older RA transmissions had DCCD too. Only the RA's had the 5mt dccd.

The Ver.3-6 have the same RA gears. The older ones had different ratios and different final drives.

I am running V6 RA 5spd DCCD in my 04 WRX. No problems...except the rear keeps kicking out and drifting corners LOL...

lol nice, thats what I want. But I mean, do I have to get a transmission? Or can I just get the center diff from somewhere and put it in the transmission thats currently in my 02 wrx?

You can use your transmission and get a DCCD center diff.

The next problem is now you need to change the final drive in your rear diff.

Because you are going to a 1 to 1 center diff. you you need to get a 3.9 final drive ring and pinon for your rear diff.

Then you need to track down a controler for the DCCD.

I bought both of mine from a guy over in UK but he has since gone out of business.

So if I had a ver. 2 RA DCCD made for a 3.9FD, no ring and pinion is needed. Right?

I thought the final drive on the wrx was 3.9? Or is that the final drive of the stock center diff or somethin? How much would it cost to get a dccd center diff and the 3.9 ring and pinion for out back, and where?

Final drive is determined by the stepper gears and ring and pinion, not the differentials.

Well I think that goes without saying. Wrong wording on my part.

the 3.9 is one of the easiest rear diffs to find it came in all the 5-speed impreza's from 93-01 besides the 2.5 RS.

The WRX "stock" center diff is a wierd 1 to 1.1 or something, so the stock rear diff. will not work with the DCCD in place of the "stock" center diff.
