View Full Version : Mach V Dyno Day Saturday 12/9/06
Mach V Dan 11-11-2006, 01:17 PM What: Dyno Day
When: 12/9/06, 9am to 5pm
Where: 45064-B Underwood Ln
Sterling, VA 20166
Details:
If you haven't seen us advertise this before, dyno day offers the chance to get a baseline or updated dyno numbers on your car for a smaller fee than on normal workdays. Cost is $75 for 2WD or AWD cars, and $25 additional for air/fuel analysis. Slots are 40 minutes, which is usually enough for 3-4 pulls. It's a great social educational event, too, as lots of people come to watch and compare notes.
You can take away your dyno results on a USB key (hint: Bring your own USB key) if you would like, otherwise we will e-mail them to you, so you can store/analyze/post your results to your heart's content.
You must call us at (703) 435-5000 to reserve a slot. Each of our previous dyno days has been sold out, with a wait list. Have your credit card ready to hold your slot.

I love it actually. I didn't have to cut the bumper beam and it's not obnoxiously large either. I think it's perfect for the stock turbo or a 20G, but nothing bigger.
The install was painless, only trimming had to be done was on the bumper.

The guy in the TSX is a friend of mine :)
*EDIT: and he just said he can't make it.
Dan,
Can I cancel his 12:20 spot on here or do I need to call to confirm? I'm still good for 11:40 :)
Thanks,

Dan. what is your normal price for a dyno pull for the purposes of baselining?
I have been so busy lately that I don't think my STI will be through its break-in period by the 9th. :)
But I'd be interested in getting a baseline on it.
Mach V Dan 11-17-2006, 09:52 AM Dan. what is your normal price for a dyno pull for the purposes of baselining?
$100 for an hour slot, as many pulls as you want. $35 extra for air/fuel analysis.

Mach V Dan 11-20-2006, 08:54 PM as far as air fuel analysis does this include an actual tune?
No. The 40-minute slot is not nearly enough for tuning.
... and do you guys work with any of the openecu tactrix based EMS?if not is there anyone around that does?

drwrx 12-11-2006, 02:03 PM I was hoping for 300 whp, but didn't quite make it.
2002 WRX Wagon
292 whp / 282 ftlbs
greddy TZ518Z (TD05(8cm)-18G) @ 20psi
RC 650 injectors
HKS EVC IV
GP-Moto intake
borla headers
up-pipe
Injen down-pipe (w/ hi-flow cat welded in)
Bosal single-tip catback
The turbo and the injectors have a lot of room left in them. The injectors were running at less than 70% duty cycle at 7,000 RPMs.
My brother in law got 257 whp / 287 ftlbs on his 06 Legacy GT with just a base Cobb stage 2 map with a set of headers, up-pipe, stromung down-pipe, stock mid cat-pipe, borla cat-back, and a K&N intake. and he was running crazy rich up top as well (below 10 to 1 after 5,500 RPMs).
I suspect he'll get another 15-20 whp with a proper tune.
AcquaCow 12-11-2006, 11:03 PM I dunno how to get the extra graph info on like Dan does on his print-outs, but this should be helpful.
This is AaronWRX's stock 05 vs my 04 with K&N typhoon & 3in stromung catback.

drwrx 12-12-2006, 11:48 AM A downpipe, some EM, and a good tune and the RSTi will be a beast!
(not that it ain't already)
AcquaCow 12-15-2006, 10:19 PM I hooked up a boost gauge tonight.
That needle just won't hit 15.
It sits at like 14.5-14.8 =P
I'll play with it more in the AM when it's brighter and I can do a good pull.
