View Full Version : Mid-A Appreciation Raffle: PPG Gearbox!!!!

AndrewtechAutomotive
11-14-2006, 11:23 AM
In appreciation of our NASIOC Mid-Atlantic Subaru Family, we've decided to have a raffle.

But what kind of raffle could we have that would be totally unique, and ultimately hook up one lucky Mid-A WRX owner?

Why a PPG raffle, of course!

That's right folks! We will be raffling off a fully built and installed PPG 1-4 Helical Synchronized Transmission! Strong enough not to worry about breakage, quiet enough to not upset the spouse. The perfect transmission!

Here is the situation: We will be selling 43 (forty-three) tickets. The contest will continue until the 43rd entry is received. After all checks are processed and all entrants are notified, a non-associated third party will draw a random name out of a hat. That person will receive a built transmission installed in their car.

What you need to do:

Fill out the attached sheet and mail it to us with your entry fee of $100USD. That's it. Upon receipt of your entry, it will be numbered and filed away with the rest of the contestants. An e-mail will be sent to confirm receipt of your entry.

Entries recieved after the 43rd will be numbered in order of receipt in case of drop-out entries. Once all 43 entries are processed, remaining entries will be returned to sender.

All 43 entrants will be e-mailed with notification of their receipt of entry and listed in this thread. If you don't hear from us, you aren't one of the top 43 and we will return your envelope after the winner is announced.

Mail all entries to:

PPG CONTEST
7615-E Rickenbacker Dr.
Gaithersburg, MD 20879

Once the entry form is posted in this thread is the official start date of the contest.

Kind regards, mates!

THIS IS THE OFFICIAL START OF THE CONTEST!

Download this form. Fill it out completely. Mail it in with a check made out to Andrewtech Automotive for $100. That's it!

You will be officially entered to win a brand new PPG transmission for your WRX!

All 43 official entries will be posted in this thread and a winner will be drawn after the 43rd entry is received!

Quadzilla - Unfortunately, for this first raffle, only the helical 1-4 synchro set is available. I ammended the Terms and Conditions to state that no substitutions will be permitted.

Big Ron - Um... Butifarra instead?

MD04WRX - Yep, you sure can! Enter as many times as you want, but please limit your entries to one per envelope.

I actually just bought a gearset from you guys (russel), and I am still trying to do the raffle, my only problem is my car is 55 miles away and have no way of gettin the production date...........Could I put early 2002 for prod date. I have everything filled out besides the production date.

AndrewtechAutomotive
11-21-2006, 09:33 AM
Trey - I'm holding all checks until the 43rd entrant. That way, should there be some reason we don't reach 43, it'll be much easier to refund and return. Since it's only the first week, all submitted entries haven't likely shown up yet.

$100 for a $5200 value? Sounds like a good deal to me!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We are back open for business!

The raffle is for a 1-4 helical synchronized gearset including all installation and labor. It's a prize worth over $5000!

The only qualifying material is that you have a post 1999 5-speed gearbox, and that the tranny is to be installed in your car and that we are able to rebuild the transmission without any additional parts (this doesn't disqualify you, but it may result in a slight cost depending on what needs replacing).

I recieved 2 entries over the weekend, and they are added to the initial post. Black Friday is over, loosen those purse strings and buy your chance to win a sweet deal!

Thanks to all the entrants so far!

Chris,

Pretty much. The helical 1-4 is pretty quiet. Relative to the straight cut gears, they are barely noticeable. It's nothing a good conversation or mild radio couldn't cover up. This is definately a "wife friendly" transmission setup.

hey phil im wondering how much power can these gears hold? over 500whp?

AndrewtechAutomotive
11-30-2006, 08:25 AM
For the helical syncro set, 500whp is really pushing it. No one has ever broken a syncro gearset, and the straight cut synchro gearsets have held up to that power, so it's tough to say. Is it worth $100 to potentially find out if they will hold up to the power?

I dunno, just tossing ideas out. :)

Siper2
03-27-2007, 12:03 PM
No, it's a lot to put in for a raffle ticket, a one-in-43 gamble. :)

You would have to have $100 lying around that you don't have any use for, other than that. A lot of folks don't, which is why they haven't hit their 43 yet.

AndrewtechAutomotive
03-27-2007, 07:38 PM
Yeah.....so this didnt work. I thought it would have filled far faster. Oh well, we tried. Will be in contact with the few who entered, close this one and begin another on a larger scale. We'll let you know. Was thinking a wet t-shirt contest with the winner getting the unit, but everyone knows big dave would easily win.......

No, it's a lot to put in for a raffle ticket, a one-in-43 gamble. :)

You would have to have $100 lying around that you don't have any use for, other than that. A lot of folks don't, which is why they haven't hit their 43 yet.

Cheap f^%kerz!!!
