View Full Version : Ok I need you guys!! How do you get water stains off? myko011 04-10-2001, 05:57 PM I think they are from a sprinkler and they have been there for a week. I washed it and it does not come off. help Rick G 04-10-2001, 06:15 PM Try mother's clay system it may get rid of some depending how bad.If not compond and wheel. Skylab 04-10-2001, 06:32 PM I second that. Claybar/professional detail. Claybar made my '92 Caravan's paint feel like glass. It removes the fine dirt and particles inbedded in the paint. i.e. waterspots Check out PepBoys for the Mother's Claybar System. Good Luck Skylab joostin420 04-10-2001, 06:41 PM i use Mothers scratch and swirl remover then wax. justin Screaming2.5 04-10-2001, 06:50 PM I assume that the spots are hard water - first wash the car, next get something acidic like vinegar or a lemon (if using a vinegar dilute it with tap water). Hard water spots are typically minerals left behind from the water. The acid from the vinegar or lemon will re-desolve the minerals and clean/remove them from the car. No real "scrubbing" is needed with this process - just wipe it gently. You must rinse the area clean of the acid product and DON'T let it dry on your car. Once you are finished wash the car again. Pay special attention to all the places water might get trapped. I know first hand this works and if you do it right it won't hurt your paint - just keep everything wet. It's a little back woods, but it works. Langit 04-10-2001, 08:20 PM don;t forget to apply a coat or two layers of wax after u;re using clay bar, acid, or polish..to replenish the protection Seth W 04-11-2001, 04:49 PM I read here http://www.autopia-carcare.com/ that distilled viniger works for removing spots. I've never tried it yet but the sight is very good you may want to hit it up. |
