I went outside and was approaching my car when I thought I saw a dent in the top of the passenger-side door near the hinge. Upon reaching my car, I saw no dent. Does anyone else see this with a 02 WRX/RS from a distance?

I know what you mean -- don't check in to an asylum. If your car is clean and shiny, the reflections off the crease can play tricks on you.
Then again, you could have your 8 year old open her mother's BMW door on daddy's WRX and give you a real dent. The sharp creased pointed edge of the rear door (MY2000 5 Series wagon) poked right above the rear door crease in my baby -- OUCH! Couldn't be a worse spot either...
Let's put it this way: German metal beats Japanese metal EVERYTIME.
Man I was steamed -- and not a week after I had some door dings taken out...

I noticed a dent a few weeks ago on the top of the C-pillar... I would like to know exactly how it got there too
That's gotta be some of the beefiest sheet metal on the car and no way a door could have caused that unless I parked beside a monster truck or something... I guess I'll never know.

Chevy Excursions and whatever the other new SUVS the size of dumptrucks are, can leave "door dings" in all sorts of locations.
I park in the "de-militarized zones" way off in the corners of parking lots and the "door dingers" still seem to find me.

Paintless Dent Removal works great. I had a small dinger at the drivers side door handle and the shop was able to "roll" it out from behind without any panels or parts removed. It's spendy at 100.00, but it was worth it.
