View Full Version : Portland Dyno Day!!
Ron@RalliTEK 12-05-2006, 03:11 PM Who is interested in a dyno day and how far in advance would you like the notice? The event would be in Portland and we would love as many people there as possible. Tuners will be on hand to answer questions as well as offer assistance. We would love to have one soon after the first of the year but would also like to give as much notice as possible.
Well it looks as though Saturday January 6th will be the day. Unfortunately we will not be able to tune any cars on the dyno. The time required to tune a car will make it difficult if not impossible to do at an event like this. We want people to have equal time as well as offer as many people the opportunity to dyno their cars. Any tuning will have to be done before or after the dyno run. In the event you would like to have the car tuned after your run, you can do so and dyno the car after but you will be charged the group fee again (time permitting). Any tuning will be done on an individual basis and is not included in the price. Tuning and or labor can be scheduled through Rallitech or Torqufreaks. If you are planning to attend this event let me know by December 29th if possible so we can begin scheduling. First come first serve so get your name is early. The maximum spots available will be 40 so I am sure the day will fill up quickly. If you have any questions, email me.

ej25power 12-14-2006, 08:58 PM I'd like to go, but I only have Thursday and Sunday off. I'm pretty curious what my little RS is putting down.
Tecla 12-17-2006, 10:38 PM I'm interested, would like to know pricing though. I had it dynod with stage 1, curious what this stage 2 map is putting down though.
Sinister redlines 12-18-2006, 12:44 AM I have used torquefreaks dyno before they upgraded to a awd unit, anyway awsome facility and helpful service.
bluetwo 12-18-2006, 12:45 AM Mmmm dyno-jets...
I'm there unless I have to work. I won't really know until then though.
reddevil 12-18-2006, 02:58 AM Typically its about $30-$40 for 3 pulls, tuning is extra......
If you wanted to rent the dyno for an hour, its $85, with AFR its $95. I was able to get in something like 20 pulls in an hour, but it was cool out and I didnt care about cooling down much.
redtighe 12-21-2006, 04:56 AM I'm in, just tell me when.
Rallitek.com 12-21-2006, 01:38 PM The tentative date will be January 6th. It's a Saturday because they are not open on Sunday. The cost will be dependent on the amount of people attending. The cost is 1-15 cars $50.00 and 16+ is $40.00. I may be able to get a little better price on the 16+ cars but we may need to get over 25 cars to sign up.
evoxd 12-22-2006, 01:17 AM ill go. I really wanna dyno my car

Rallitek.com 12-27-2006, 03:10 PM Ok folks, it’s set in stone! January 6, 2007 will be the date. The time will be 10:00 am at Torquefreaks. For those of you who do not know where they are, here is a link for directions: http://torquefreaks.com/directions.htm
Now the bad news. There will be only 15 slots available and first come first serve. This allows the most time for set up and allows the shop to resume business without the event infringing on the dyno in the event the shop needs to use it. I highly recommend that you sign up in advance that way we can guarantee a spot for you. In the event we have extra time we may be able to add a couple more vehicles. Torquefreaks uses a Dynojet all wheel dyno so they are able to do all powertrain options.
You will want to sign up soon, as I am sure the spots will fill fast. Contact me (Ron) at Rallitek 503-257-7500 or 800-444-6473 to reserve your spot.
SONIC_03WRX 12-27-2006, 06:07 PM I'll be at Daves BBQ !! Its Tradition ! =)

joeymdz 12-27-2006, 10:49 PM so how much are you guys charging????
Rallitek.com 12-28-2006, 08:38 PM The cost is 1-15 cars $50.00
Now the bad news. There will be only 15 slots available and first come first serve.
We were not able to allow more than 15 vehicles.
Rallitek.com 12-28-2006, 08:52 PM I might be interested. How much will the tuners be charging???
Re-Flash/Tuning is a bit tough on dyno days. Custom tunes can take time. The fewer folks that sign up, the more time we will have for tuning. I just do not want some folks left out at the end of the day if tuning takes too long. That said, custom tuning runs $100/hr. 'Off the Shelf' maps can be flashed into the car before your dyno pull for $100 as well.
Please post up if you want just a pull, or if you want tune. If you want tune, please describe the mods on your car. I can be more clear on tuning once I put a schedule together.

lancelucas 12-29-2006, 02:15 AM Sorry, I have to ask.
http://torquefreaks.com/Dyno_Diag.htm
If I can rent the dyno for an entire hour for $85, what makes 2-3 pulls worth $50? Especially if time does not even permit for any self-tuning?
Just wondering what exactly the $50 gets a guy. It is less than 5 pulls, with no time for tuning, correct?

$50 gets 45min. You can do whatever you want with that time. If we have extra space, you can easily have more time at no extra cost.

No worries. I got you. Ron and I are both watching the thread. I think Ron was out on some outside sales calls.
I was stuck at the dyno most of the day....
Did you leave the VM on Ron's phone? I can make sure he gets it. Unlike myself:huh: Ron is very good about getting back to folks. If you prefer, post up here, PM, or email sales@rallitek.com.
Thanks!
