View Full Version : Cobb AccessPort StreetTuner Training - P&L Motorsports (By: Jorge “The Scientist")

I recently was trained on how to tune my vehicle at P&L Motorsports by Jorge "The Scientist". What can I say other than it was a feature rich 3-4 hour knowledge dump on the translation of each map/table, Order of Operation, Method of Procedure, Data logging techniques/interpretation, and some best tuning practices. There were a few dozen maps/tables that clearly convert over to the StreetTuner Application, but then there were also a few that did not.

Although this was a training class for the Cobb AccessPort StreetTuner application, it also included a dyno tune that we built together for my 06' STI (i.e. 100 oct + 100% Methanol).

I would highly recommend Cobb StreetTuner training by P&L/Jorge for anyone that is a Mid to Expert level in the area of engine electronics/management/drivability. Jorge has a wealth of knowledge to offer, which can only be absorbed if you are technically prepared in advance.

Jorge & Paul - My thanks and appreciation is extended to you for your patience and willingness to stay as late as you guys did to help me see this process/training through.

Kind Regards,

Pete R.

PS – I still want 450/450 ;)

Jeeze, just put it in a manual format so people could buy it. Charge a couple hundred bucks and throw in a half hour of personal phone "hand-holding" time to answer a few questions. I'd be all over that like a cheap suit.

a manual form would help, but getting the hands on training and tuning a car on the dyno, having a workign example in front of you, really does help you learn and be comfortable doing a tune

the question does not have to be answered COMPLETELY if it's a privacy issue, but the question stands: how much was it? +/- $300? $500? $1k? help some info-hungry brothers out. please, it's the giving season... ;)

After January 1st, with the updated dyno pricing the class will be $450 for 2 hours of time, with each additional hour billed at $200/hr. Max of 2 people per class, billed per person.

I guess I REALLY should post this on the P&L vendor account, but it's here, worse case a mod pimp slaps me and I re-post it.

Just a suggestion, but have you given any thought to making a video? This will allow you to reach more of an audience, and also help others who are in relatively remote locations to be able to tune their cars using the techniques they gleam from you. I am sure there would be a market for it. I know if there was something out for the Hydra, I'd be willing to buy the dvd to learn...
