I just got my impreza, and ive been to the dealer 3 times,
1. MY coolant was overfilled when i got the car and it exploded
2. oil change
3.oil change
should i keep the receipts? i mean, is it something that i can look up when i go to trade the car in/sell it or wll i def need to keep these pieces of papers for the next 6 years

I don't think you need to keep the reciepts, especially for oil changes, (scheduled maintenece or poor oil consumption?) As for the coolant thing, if it's not overfilled and it happens again, then I guess you have a problem.

im sure they keep records...but get yourself an envolpe and save them in a file if your worried...not really that hard
good luck and hope the coolant dosent explode again

There's no such thing as having too many records. I'd keep them at least till you are out of warranty. Possibly longer if you continue to go to dealerships for service, as they'll be more likely to perform goodwill work for you.

I set up an account on My.Subaru.com. I keep track of maintenance, repairs, etc. and figure I can print it all out when/if I go to sell either one of mine. It didn't cost me anything and I get service coupons once in awhile. Not getting slammed with spam from them either.

Yes yes yes, keep the records of your oil changes as it establishes a maintenance history for your vehicle. This is very important to have, especially if you move and start going to a new dealership; the new dealership won't have records of your previous services. Get an envelope and save 'em all.

Keep every receipt for everything that goes into the car.
In the event of an out of warranty failure (or a questionable failure) those receipts could save you thousands of dollars.
When it comes time to sell the car how are you going to prove that all the maintenance was done? With receipts.
