View Full Version : OMG!!!! Look at the difference !!!!!!
xdrian 12-08-2006, 05:20 PM I know its two different places but look at the torque curve compared before and after, what a difference. now the car is a monster. :)
Got it tuned @ TurboTrix and they did an amazing job. Thanks to Mark for a great tune!

DoctorNick 12-08-2006, 05:22 PM Can you post the baseline on your "after" dyno map?
xdrian 12-08-2006, 05:30 PM dont have the baseline right now, ill see if i can get it from the tuner tomorrow
Turbopit 12-08-2006, 05:32 PM Yeah, it would be nice to see the first run from the second tuning. Hard to compare the two shown from 2 different dynos, etc...
spooln407 12-08-2006, 05:39 PM nice. mods?
xdrian 12-08-2006, 05:41 PM vf34 ported and coated
big top mount intercooler
perrin headers/uppipe
tuboxs utec
turboback exhaust
boost set at 23psi
100% meth
bigboy 12-08-2006, 05:47 PM very nice...almost the same setup i am goin to run..have everything sitting in my room just waitin on some stuff...
if the top graph were in rpms it would be a better comparison
jigga 12-08-2006, 07:09 PM impressive... I remember AZscoobie mentioning a while back that he noticed stock rods snapping somewhere around what you are making for torque...:)
xdrian 12-08-2006, 08:43 PM impressive... I remember AZscoobie mentioning a while back that he noticed stock rods snapping somewhere around what you are making for torque...:)
I doubt it, I saw people with a 20G that put down way more power than me on stock block and they were ok.
ScoobyDooo 12-08-2006, 08:56 PM maybe the 02s internals are crappy...ive been runing 333 wtq on MY06 wrx w/ TD04 for about 12000 miles, my 20G is sitting in the trunk waiting for the FMIC install to be finished
CHRIS
NewSTI 12-08-2006, 09:07 PM looks like 4200 -4300 full boost, isn't that a bit laggy for vf34 ???
akira02rex 12-09-2006, 12:18 AM looks like 4200 -4300 full boost, isn't that a bit laggy for vf34 ???
Looks like the tuner floored the car at 3500rpm or so. This would make it seem like the turbo takes longer than it really does to spool.
xdrian 12-09-2006, 01:02 AM yes it definatley spools a lot faster on the street. I start spooling before 2500rpm on the street and then have fool boost by about 3-3100rpm
hotrod 12-09-2006, 02:43 AM Can you post the baseline on your "after" dyno map?
Or tell folks what a stock WRX or STi dynos at on both systems.
Larry
nxttruck2002 12-09-2006, 04:23 AM You didn't like Alan's tune??!
SSFWRX 12-09-2006, 04:37 AM this must be a 2.5L block, becuase you simply arent going to get that kind of torque from a vf34....that or the dyno is totally messed up.

agreed
TurboDXsti 12-09-2006, 09:41 AM Or tell folks what a stock WRX or STi dynos at on both systems.

My stock 06 dynoed at 240 whp in 4th gear on turbotrix dyno.
jigga 12-09-2006, 09:47 AM I doubt it, I saw people with a 20G that put down way more power than me on stock block and they were ok.
perform a few searches under AZscoobie's sn and also phil from Element tuning and see what they had to say on the topic a while back.:)
there's no doubt that turbos are out there that can make the power, but the EJ205 isn't running forged rods (cast) so isn't as tough as the 2.5 engines.
xdrian 12-09-2006, 12:08 PM it is an ej205 but lets hope those internals hold up
mcu81 12-09-2006, 12:31 PM yea thats alot of power thru a stock 2.0L......im sure he has plans for a build up......
-mikey
InfamousDX 12-09-2006, 02:21 PM Looks good... hope that tune holds up.
EVOTHIS 12-09-2006, 08:09 PM who tuned the first car?
spooln04 12-09-2006, 10:57 PM impressive... I remember AZscoobie mentioning a while back that he noticed stock rods snapping somewhere around what you are making for torque...:)
Yea I believe it was around 405 lb/ft at the flywheel.
xdrian 12-10-2006, 01:49 AM who tuned the first car?
no one, the car was not tuned at the moment
NewSTI 12-10-2006, 01:54 AM no one, the car was not tuned at the moment
so you mean the first dyno graphic is untune???
it doesn't even look like tq curve in the first graph, looks more like 2 different hp curve
jigga 12-15-2006, 09:34 AM Yea I believe it was around 405 lb/ft at the flywheel.
yes you found it, and Azscoobie mentions keeping torque under 350wtq to keep the rods from snapping off..:)
xdrian 12-15-2006, 11:39 AM i dont think 358wtq would do too much damage
Davenow 12-15-2006, 12:31 PM While there is obviously a difference since your car was tuned for the second one, what you arent getting is that the difference between the numbers on those two sheets is entirely meaningless.
You can make 350whp on one dyno, then go to another and make 290, then to yet another, and make closer to 400.
There is a local dyno in town where a stock STI only makes 190whp.
You cannot compare those two sheets to each other.
Besides, who gives a rats ass what a car does on paper? Are you happy with what it does when you mash your right foot down? Thats what matters :)
gopsu 12-16-2006, 03:19 AM that's an amazing torque from 2.0L engine... looks more like 2.5L map.
Dyno Flash 12-16-2006, 05:30 AM I think that this customer came in for our free dyno day and recieved a base dyno pull for free and that is the sheet he posted from our shop - obviously in need of a tune
Nice post tuning dyno sheet !
Enjoy
D Money 12-16-2006, 01:14 PM I don't see how a vf34 can make 310whp, 358wtq?
Really odd, just doesn't add up. How are you making 60wtq more than everyone else?
Apparently TT just tuned my friends vf39, tbe, and ecutek with a stock topmount and it made 330whp, to me that's ubelievable. How are they getting these numbers?
I'm going to go do a pull on their dyno to see what I make, im curious now.
RS_to_WRX_swap 12-16-2006, 01:59 PM Most people don't run 23 PSI on a EJ205 is why.
GTSJOE 12-16-2006, 07:33 PM what are the corrected #'s
Junior2JZ 12-16-2006, 11:21 PM Nice numbers! car must feel good on the street.
WRXRallyBlue 12-16-2006, 11:34 PM I don't see how a vf34 can make 310whp, 358wtq?
Aggressive tune, lotsa boost, meth inj. It could be a high reading dyno, but it is possible.
575rider 12-17-2006, 04:46 AM I don't see how a vf34 can make 310whp, 358wtq?

23psi and 100% meth....that's your answer, it's not pump gas and 18-20 psi like your comparisons
D Money 12-17-2006, 11:48 AM but stil, 310whp sounds right with meth, but 358wtq? That sounds unheard of on a 205.
That's just me....
metoo 12-17-2006, 02:06 PM I can't tel anything from those 2 graphs. One is Torque over Speed and the other is Torque over RPM. Plus they are on two different dynos of different makes. Some dynos show a quicker onset of torque than others. There's nothing to compare here. You need 2 graphs from the same mill.
