Got a my00 2.5RS Sedan with Auto trans 75,000 miles. Well kept and conditioned vehicle with well maintained (regular t-tech and differential oil changes) Only prob is a CEL due to a bad connection in the charcoal fuel evap wire. Anyway was driving car normally fully warmed up (but its about 10 degrees outside) came to a stop and felt like the trans went thunk! out of first gear. Drove about a mile later and the same thing happened again. Turned off to another street to find a place to park and came to another stop, heard a high pitched whine then when I came to a complete stop the rear diff made a loud clunk and jerked to a stop. Took off again and seemed to be stuck in second and would'nt shift right. Parked, turned car off and checked the auto trans fluid both with car running and off and was level was fine and fluid still good, check front diff level and was fine and fluid still looked new. Drove to one dealer 5 miles away, trans acted fine, dealer wait too long so drove to another about 15 miles away on streets and freeways and trans acted fine. Went out tonight and drove about 20 miles and trans acted fine. Anybody got any good guesses if this "trans hiccup" is mechanical or electronic. Also dealer says he's full till next friday before he can look at my car, good customer service huh!.
