View Full Version : Production Spots on my Window?

On my '06's rear window when it is slightly foggy, I can see 2 circles on either side, that are about 3-4" in diameter. To me, they look like where the production robots gripped the window when it was installed in the car. I tried washing that area but the spots still remain.

Does anyone have this problem?

In my 02, when the inside of my windows fog up, I can see the outline of the 'parts content' sticker in the upper corner of the rear passenger side window. I've cleaned my windows numerous times but it still shows up.

My '05 WRX and my '07 STI both had the same marks on the windshield and rear glass. Its normal.

^^ i disagree...i've never seen them on mine, and i notice EVERY blemish on my car. Just because they are on some, does not mean they are on all. Furthermore, it does not mean that they should be there.

If it bothers you, you can definately get it replaced. For free. .02cents

marks from suction cups/tools are not at all uncommon - odds are you have whatever they use as a lubricant on there - if it's a pain to get off, it's probably a silicone based material... it will wear off eventually, but if you want to help it along, something like bon-ami should do the trick.

I sincerely doubt the dealer is going to replace a window because it has marks on it which only show up when the window fogs...

It doesn't bother me that much, its like I see them all the time. I just hate cleaning the rear windows its the hardest piece of glass to clean on the whole car, and it's imposible to get it streak/film free.

+1 for Bon Ami. It won't scratch the glass and leaves a nice finish.

I have both the cake and the powder. Also, try using newsprint to wipe the windows, it works great. Works really well on chrome and in the bathroom, too.

Need to take into consideration though that every time you diassemble a part of the vehicle that utilizes plastic clips for friction fit, such as the door cards and interior trim pieces, that you are going to make it more prone to rattles down the road. Just something to consider.
