I've been reading the manual for a while now. (read it 3 time) as well as some other documentation. But I still have some ?s I'm confused about

Background: My plan is to try and improve on the base map I already have. The fuel and boost are dialed in from my protune session, but I need to improve timing.

1.) Can I load a basemap from the computer? OR do I have to transfer it to the accessport and load it from there? If so, how can I tune the map since this process seems to be a pain to do?

2.) I don't have a realtime map, but when I open the real time main ignition map, there are values in the table that I can change.

3.) If i open my base map, change values on my base map when not live tuning, then connect to the ecu and proceed with live tuning, will the ecu use the values I updated? (close to Q1)

4.) Any other advice? (I know, small steps)

Edit the map on your computer, then transfer it over to your AP for the flash.

You can use your computer to transfer a Realtime map to your car, but only the AP can transfer a Basemap to your car.

you can only change the real time values for 'real time' changes, like ^^ said in order for the base map changes to take effect, you must save the map, transfer to AP, and reflash the ECU.

To more completely answer #3, you can make all the realtime changes you want but if you are not live-tuning, then nothing happens. You have to be connected to the Live ECU for any changes to happen...

So connect to ECU, make changes
OR
connect to ECU, open new realtime map

either way, all the reatime data gets altered on the ECU. If you make changes or open a map and THEN connect to ECU, nothing changes.

Got it, thanks!

Now for the hard part. What do I want my timing curve to look like? A vally, slope, or hill?

Here is what I have now,

What should I be shooting for?
