My idle speed seems (to me) to be a little high both cold and hot.
When cold the speed will drop to 1200-1400 rpm after just a minute
or so of running. Then it slowly works it way down to 700 rpm but takes
several minutes to do so after warming up completely.
When warm the engine seems to want to hang around 1000 rpm
when pulling up to a stop and takes a few seconds of sitting still to
finally drop to 700. It pulls hard enough (its an automatic) that
extra brake pedal effort is needed and I would expect it to affect
the braking in snow and ice.
Shouldn't it return to 700 rpm almost immediately at a stop.
I've cleaned the throttle body and IACV, maybe it needs a better cleaning.
Anyone with ideas as why it would be slow returning to idle.
No hoses off, new PCV valve, new air filter, new fuel filter, and no idea
how to make it return to idle faster. How do I reset the idle ?
On my Fords you disconnect the IACV and set the idle speed then
reconnect the IACV....is Subaru the same ( I bet not with my luck).
It runs great no problems except the high idle.
