Man that sux. Sorry to hear it. I don't know where to find the CF hood besides www.autocaresubaru.com but I hope you have insurance to cover it... cause then you get the new hood for crashing!!! Then you can thank the deer!

Sorry to hear that also. :(

Here's a bit of Trivia. More people are killed by deer (mostly by hitting them with their car) every year than any other animal in any situation In America. Glad you are OK

Some more animal trivia. Q: You open a can of cat food. How fast can your cat run to get to the food?

A: The average cat can run 30 mph for a short distance.

Sorry if this segways to a nonsensical off topic thread I just had to do that one. :D

Think about what the deer went through. Maybe he was getting you back for killing his mother.

OMG, you hit a deer. That poor, poor deer. Maybe you should sell your car to help pay the deer's animal hospital bill or its funeral. That's the least you could do. :D

Dude, if it hit one of those the deer probably would have survived and the driver would have been killed :D

i hit a deer in my integra one time...about 50 mph. his head came through the windshield, destroyed the whole front end of the car, the hood, the right fender, the right door, the right quarter panel, both tires and wheels on the right side, the right mirror, bent the frame and smashed both passenger windows. needless to say...it was really ugly...

I'd go with an aluminum hood, actually. but then I like low profile, clean looking mods. do what you want. :D
I'm sure with some searching you can find some CF hood prices on the boards.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that, you should try to go through the deer's insurance company. :)

Deer smack. Common occurance in North Idaho. I am up to four now, One on my bike ( preferred to buick smack). I have been careful with the scoob.

I knew this post was going to start up sooner or later. Sorry to hear about the mishap. Taking a road up to visit my sister, I see a lot of them on the side. I always keep a look out for them to do something stupid like jet out in front of my car.
Insurance companies will use any excuse to bring out the jar of vaseline. Hitting a deer would count as an 'incident' to them cause its coming out of their pocket...even if hitting a deer isn't your fault at all.
I had a rock hit up on my windshield and crack it. I got stopped by a cop and was told that I needed to replace it under law. So I got it replaced under my insurance. Months later I get my policy renewal and the amounts jumps to almost twice the amount I paid last year. They told me that I had 'incidents' that raised my premium. Incidents such as replacing my windshield and a speeding ticket.
My point is that the windshield....which wasn't anyone's fault....is being paid by me in the end (no pun intended) because of the way insurance companies use the word incident to describe and define situations that occur while driving.
Be careful.

that deer was like, 'ahh a hunter........' It was obviously trying to protect its kind, like a kamikaze deal, only it's a deer not a japanese airplane pilot.....and I'm pretty sure it wasn't carrying explosives either....but...hmmm, what if it was....that woulda been some $hit.... oh well, you're ok, cars can be repaired and that's all that really matters.

That sucks so bad, I go to school in Ashland, Wisconsin. I see so many deer all the time on my way up from Illinois. I had to completely stop one time to miss a deer, he wouldn't even move. I ended up almost getting out of my car and chasing him. After about 15 seconds of foul language he got the idea. Let's just say I spent about 2 hours driving in the low 40's from Minoqua up. Good luck with the hood, hope it looks good.
