I've been a fairly long time reader of these forums, but I've never really had a reason to post, until now. I just bought a '00 RS last Thursday, and I am SO happy with it. It took me just over a year of searching for the car (first a '99) and waiting for my monetary situation to put me in a position where I could buy it. In the meantime I would check in on the i-club whenever I thought about it. Its such an incredible improvement over my last car. I still can't get over how well it handles on asphalt and in the dirt. People are always saying how well it handles, but you really cant appreciate it until you try it out. And I actually have torque! I can pass mini-vans! I can drive up hills without turning off the AC, downshifting and leaning forward! So basically what I'm trying to get at is, I love my car, these forums are great, and hi.

Hi. Welcome to the club.
I love being able to take hills in 5th that my roommate's Jetta needs 3rd to manage. Granted it's a '92 with a Fox motor dumped in it, but still.
And yeah, they handle pretty well with some basic inexpensive mods. Well enough to irritate Mustang Cobra drivers anyway (personal experience).

Welcome. It took me a long time to find a '00 2.5RS too, especially one with auto and leather. You will have tons of fun with your new toy.
