View Full Version : Should I bother with the CA stage 2 map?

I currently run the 91 octane stage2 map in my Forester XT. I am travelling down to CA for the holidays and will unfortunately have to put that urine into my tank. I don't really feel like changing my maps if I don't have to.

Thoughts?

I'm more of a 76 man myself. But yeah, I figure they've got to be pretty similar maps. In OR we get 92 so I don't bother with the 93 maps, I run the 91 and it works wonderfully.

I will be driving all the way down to San Diego and back though, so it will be A LOT of Cali-piss in my tank. Hmmm.

Maybe I should pick up a can of some booster that gets me a point just to be safe.

If I recall the only difference between the regular 91 maps and the CA91 maps is that they change some of the timing in the higher RPM's. So just don't get on it too hard, and if you notice some pinging (marbles in a tin can) get the hell off the throttle. Other than that you should be okay.

What's so wrong about Cali's 91 gas?
