chlnOrSlpn? 12-15-2006, 06:28 PM nice! How much power do you think would be added if he went EWG on 93 pump? dumped or re-routed back into the DP.
kcook 12-15-2006, 06:49 PM wow. 500whp+ with a iwg... stock bpv ?
this car as a whole amazes me. the power and setup.
epaplia 12-15-2006, 06:57 PM This is truly an inspiration to those who cannot afford to go rotated but still want some serious power.
500+ whp = A++++
mrcoder 12-15-2006, 07:16 PM Looking good. Half way there.

damn, at first I though this is a Legacy GT.
So, how many cylinders does that car have? Because you know, there is only so much replacement for displacement.
gills 12-15-2006, 08:41 PM nice! How much power do you think would be added if he went EWG on 93 pump? dumped or re-routed back into the DP.
I believe going with a 8cm^2 exhaust housing has the same effect as going with an EWG on the typical 7cm^2, although he would still probably see a little gain if he were to dump to the atmosphere, but not as much on the 7cm^2.
That's a beauty of a map! Hope it drives like it looks, congrats.
-Oh, and is there any hint of boost creep whatsoever in the higher gears???
DoctorNick 12-15-2006, 08:44 PM 3 inch intake on that red I presume.
Looks like a very fun car. Congrats on the setup
Double your whp = double your fun? ^_^
Love how it makes power all the way to 7k, at least on the pump gas map...
BABSTI 12-16-2006, 01:56 AM Damn I hope my red setup makes power like this when i get re-tuned. My tune right now is not that great and very inconsistant. Also what psi was the race gas map done at? when i move back home to FL i am going to have to come up and get a tune from you guys. Nice work!!
305wrxPIMP 12-16-2006, 11:16 AM how many pounds of boost??? for this set up??? on pump and race gas?
Andreas Miko 12-17-2006, 11:13 AM Just reading
ix8vii 12-17-2006, 11:15 AM Nice even on pump
Clark_Kent 12-17-2006, 11:38 AM How much boost?
D Money 12-17-2006, 01:02 PM I bet it rips, awesome #'s.
soon2bblackongold 12-17-2006, 01:37 PM ^^^^agreed.
yzblazr 12-17-2006, 08:31 PM I'll find out the exact boost #'s on Mon. and post.
The car does run great, thats for sure.
Doug at Topspeed is a very good tuner.
05 wrx sti 12-18-2006, 11:30 AM impressive number.
TopSpeed 12-18-2006, 11:36 AM 27psi on 110oct and 21psi on 93oct

Not meant to be an offensive question..
But could you tell me how long your motor lasts, until a rebuild/upgrade? I'm talking in terms of mileage.
And is this your daily driver?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH The man!!!! 500hp on stock... way to be!
javid 12-20-2006, 12:49 PM Folks, lots of people have been running 400 whp on pump an 500whp on race on the stock block.
For instance, review TopSpeed's Power Section.
ix8vii 12-20-2006, 02:32 PM Not meant to be offensive also. But I hate this kind of question. It's like expecting somethings going to happen soon. Better yet, you might as well start your own thread about that question and get a better answer.

yzblazr 12-20-2006, 09:53 PM 400+ hp(to a point) on stock parts is not the issue. Its detonation thats going to kill a motor quicker than anything. So with a good tune, which I got at Topspeed, longevity shouldn't be an issue.

agreed.. you have to pay to play. Let us all enjoy our play when we can, if something happens we fix it or make it better. and learn something, thats all there is to it.
I cant recall a FPRED on an STI before, really excellent #s though and nice fuel lines! Have fun in that thing!

I worked on the wastegate port area and the pipe blend into the DP. No boost creep seen so far.
ride_the_pony69 01-31-2007, 02:02 AM I have a 7cm red with and internal wastegate and made 503whp and 509 wheel torque on 110 race gas.

and you're on your 3rd motor....
I think 500 is a bit much for stock STI bottom end. I'm just amazed by the red though. Awesome power.
VIR EURORALLY 01-31-2007, 09:31 AM I'm just hoping to hit close to this when I have my STi tuned with the Red.
I've been keeping up with this thread.

it sucks that w/ Subarus it take 2-3 times the labor to swap out a shortblock :(
some 4-digit rwhp Supra guys still run the stock shortblock on the rationale that its detonation that kills motors and they'd rather just blow the cheap stock block when they get a bad tank of gas than spend money on buliding a block
PSM-04-STi 02-08-2007, 04:28 PM I'm wondering how you were able to move so much air through the stock heads, to reach this #
also what size injectors were used

Great #'s! Congratulations!
What amaze me most on the 8cm is the diference of boost. Those #'s can be achive on a 7cm but at 30-31psi. Great graphic and nice #'s with just 27psi. I would like to see it at 32psi!!!:disco:
I really love those Red's!!!!
soon2bblackongold 02-08-2007, 04:39 PM impressive....

I understand that, which is why i'm trying to figure out how much pay gives me how much play?
Ie, I can't dump my life savings into a car only to find out a month later I gotta take a loan out for her to be fixed.
When I ask how long the motor will last, I mean daily driving...ok on the streets, around 50% high rpm throttle on freeway onramps and even long (30-35) mile commutes.
Either way, there is too much homework to be done for the time being before I even consider something like this. What can I say though...i've tasted power, and it's hella nice.
I'm sorry if that kind of question offends anyone, but death is part of life ya know
STIred05 02-08-2007, 11:37 PM 27 psi what was the maf at? Did you max it out or come even close? Reason I ask is I will have almost the same set-up. Those are some great #'s, I hope I come even close to them.
jdadour 02-09-2007, 12:07 AM if im not mistaken, the original post says nothing about WHP or WTQ just hp and tq. can anyone one bring light to this discrepancy?
STIred05 02-09-2007, 02:03 AM They seem like Whp to me w/ just a little high reading dyno but I could be wrong. A red on 100oct should be able to put down in the 460 range or more. And it could just come down to tuning.
