View Full Version : No Power Chez Tricky... Who else is affected?
Tricky 12-15-2006, 06:53 PM I'm at work now and hoping that BC Hydro gets to my neighbourhood today.
Anyone else without power and had a craptastic time getting to work today?
semaj 12-15-2006, 07:01 PM I'm watching the Fight network on TV, at home on my couch, with my electric heater on...what's this about the power?
scoobysport 12-15-2006, 07:10 PM Only slightly affected because our intranet server is in our Burnaby office.

Rough month for us at BC Hydro. Kind of glad I was on disability for the past 3 weeks for all 3 storms :D
basrah 12-15-2006, 07:49 PM I had no power all night, but just got it back about 2 hours ago.

I get to carry around a magic button that turns off people's power. I think you should all buy stuff for my car ;)
Tricky 12-15-2006, 08:55 PM If it were that easy, I'd help Vege tune his GT! If only...
minifreak 12-15-2006, 09:12 PM My house always always suffer from power outages... It was out for a day when the first one hits.
But it's still got power (I think) right now :D
Also the pipe froze, so we got no hot water when the snow hits...

now obviously it's back on..
Fleek04 12-16-2006, 07:08 AM After the wind comes the snow.
I had power for the entire day, drove on Mariner's Drive (Coquitlam or Port Coquitlam) and saw tree's down on the side of the road with the whole street without power. It looks crazy, just like the aftermath of some big distasters in movies.
Anyways, now the wind is gone, I thought it would be calm for the next few days. WRONG. Was watching superman from 12, and the movie finished at 2:30AM. Looked outside and saw 3-4 inch of snow. WTF? What's going on?
apricot 12-16-2006, 01:22 PM I worked at a high school in PoCo yesterday, unfortunately the school had its own generator so we teachers weren't able to have an off-day. Some schools however, were closed due to power outage.
I also almost ran into a tree on the way to work :o It was right in the middle of the road (still dark at 7:30am) so I slammed hard on the brakes (of the Sienna). I was about 5 feet from hitting that thing...
There are also a handful of houses in Coquitlam and PoCo that got smacked around pretty badly by fallen trees...
Solar 12-16-2006, 02:25 PM power lines were knocked out right across my street but powered stayed on to my complex, I must be on some magic grid because everywere else around me the power was down.
Was up Grouse mountain last night and the power went out at 8:00pm and took us 2 hours waiting in the tram line to get home.
Girn26 12-16-2006, 02:27 PM mine was out for a whole ****ing day!!! i bet the same for ej20
I lost my power for 3 days during the first wind storm a few weeks back. But neither the snow, or the last windstorm took it out for any longer than a few minutes.
I feel for those people in North Van, going for a week without power. It's bloody cold, and really boring without electricity in the wintertime.
:(
