Well, while driving today, at one point I released my throttle, then tapped the throttle, and suddenly a loud "pop" came from my engine bay... it sounded like it came from the intake area... scary... does anybody know what it is or had this happen before?

Did you remember to take your ack in the box out of the engine bay? Perhaps it was a backfire....from your intake...

And I don't have a box because it's an intake with cone filter...
