I soon will be buying new tires for my car and would like to know if I am able to run those listed sizes? How is the ride different, any rubbing with the 225s??? Also pics would help too as I know the 225 size will have a lower profile but I would like to see it in a picture. As far as tire choice, it's either Kumho Ecsta ASX or the Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S. Also opinions on this would be welcomed. Thanks

I got 225/50-16's [PZero Nero] on stock rims for colder weather and I love them...quiet, progressive breakaway, channel water like crazy, good on frozen stuff.
Turn in is not as good as my 225/45-17 Fuzion ZRi on Kosei K1 TS rims [17x7] but ultimate stick is as good. Will highly recommend the Nero's!

I forgot to mention that my sedan has the fender bulges and I am not sure if you would have rubbing with your car. Also, I got Prodrive springs [~20-25 mm drop f/r] with no issues of the rubbing kind.
Unless you like taller gearing, a 215 50 is a better choice.
225 50 has the SAME profile as your 205 55's.

Meaning the same wheel gap, wouldn't the sidewall be smaller on the 225s?

Nope...
225 * .50 = 112.5 mm
205 * .55 = 112.75 mm
Effectively no difference in sidewall height...so no gearing change or speedo issues.
The 40/4550/55 etc. are % of the section width.
Again, the 215/50 makes a nice compromise on the 6.5" wheel. No real turn-in slop, as opposed to most 225's. Plus you get a hair shorter gearing...which is nice...
And also, you can't see the 2mm difference in overall height on these cars anyway. So don't worry about the wheel gap...

I have 225/50/16 on my stockers. No issus looks great.
Oh and you might wanna check out the Falken 452's. Wonderfull tire. Nice and stiff sidewall, nice turnin. Currently running 41/38 psi on them and they stick really well.
