ok so i got my turboback installed and tried to switch from stage 1 to stage 2. i plugged in the green test wires....put in the accessport and pressed the switch map button. (i switched to stg2 93oct). it said "sending" then "done." so i pressed "ok" and went back to the menu. i pressed "show current map" and it still said "stage 1." i tried taking it out and putting it back in but still said "Stage 1." i tried switching the map again but still the same. am i on stage 2 or not? it says it switched but wen i look at current map it says stage 1. is it cause stage 1 was my first flash and now all im doing is just switching maps?

There are BASE MAPS - and REAL TIME MAPS

Read your instruction manual on the cd again

+1

There should be a "Change Base Map" option closer to the bottom. The flash should take about 10mins not the 30sec of a real time map.

To answer your question about being stage 2 quickly------yes you are.

Long answer------No you aren't. Your fuel map and timing are stage 2, but the rest of your tune isn't. Cobb specifically states that you should have the Stage 2 basemap if you are running any higher flowing downpipe. Base maps carry a lot more info in them than the real time maps that just change fuel maps and timing. The base map will eliminate the possibility of a CEL from the second O2 sensor. Whereas, the realtime map will not.

Well, there are very few things that are not changed with a realtime map flash and the reality is that your car is almost 100% stage2 now but the realtime map will be lost when you unplug the battery. Flashing on a stage2 basemap will ensure that all the mapping stays there no matter what until you reflash it again.
