I've installed a bi-xenon HID kit into my 2000 gc8, its plug and play and an easy install, problem is my fog lights won't turn on with my low-beams and actually turn on the high beams when I press the fog light switch.
Turn on low-beams: works normally
Turn on fogs while low-beams on: fogs turn on, high beams turn on
Turn off high-beams: fog lights turn off, high beams stay on.
Bottom line is I can't run my fogs with my low beams at same time and when I turn on my fogs it switches my low beams to hi-beams.
This is driving me nuts, I've tried the fog light mod where I cut the red/white no.5 wire on the fog light switch, tie off the harness end, then ground the other end, but this makes no difference.
Anyone know how to correct this?

Sounds an awful lot like they're wired incorrectly- even though they are plug and pray, that doesn't mean the guy at the factory wired the kit correctly. Sounds like the power for low and the power for high are in the wrong spot on the connector.

Thanks for the advice Captain Morgan, I tried switching the 3 wires in the plug to each possible combination, but the fogs still won't turn on with lows, all that changed was the hi/lo switch on the steering wheel's column functions were reversed.
Anyone else have any ideas?

I know exactly what your problem is. You have to make your HID's negatively switched. You have them positively switched which is making everything reversed.
Are you using a relay to switch the HIDs??

Well I guess I will enlighten some of you on the problem i had with this thread since no one is replying to it, type it up for future reference and plus i'm bored so here goes.
The headlights on subarus are negatively switched. In order to use a relay to turn the lights on and off, you have to make the relay negatively switched.
You take the hot from the relay (the wire that connects to the battery) and you have to ground it. I took the ground wire and the hot wire and grounded them together. Then, take the trigger wire and wire it to the black wire on the stock bulbs. Then take the two hots from the ballasts and wire them directly to the battery with a inline fuse. I used a 20 amp fuse and it seems to be working fine.
Then you take the lead wires from the relay and you connect them to the grounds on the ballasts. Now some relays have TWO 87's on them. You have to use the outside most 87. If you wired each headlight to each of the 87 prongs the lights will alternated on and off for example, You turn your headlights off, the right HID will come on, if you turn headlights on, the right will shut off and the left will come on.
So, If i remember correctly.
Some relays only have one 87 prong, but most have 2. Use the outter most 87.
Prong 30 which is usually a + needs to be grounded.
Then 86 is the low current trigger wire for the relay. That needs to connect to one of the black wires for the headlight bulbs.
Now, I'm not 100 percent on the prong numbers to the relay, but I'm sure someone can correct that.
I know it seems winded and long but it's the best that I can explain what I did.
Let me know if anyone has any questions.
