Ok I searched all the threads and I am not finding my exact answer..

1. What exactly is required in order to modify the Legacy DIN Pocket (with the button door) so it fits on the bottom under the single head unit.

2. Is is personal preference or does the door HAVE TO open UP or DOWN?

I am going to drill a hole in the back of the DIN pocket so I can run my iPod cable into it to hide the iPod...

I've got the Forester one in my 2.5i, opening upwards. I drilled some new holes in the metal frame around the radio and DIN slot, to screw on the Forester DIN pocket, then used a long tiewrap around the front of the radio and DIN pocket to keep it from tipping up and down. You'll see what I mean when you install it.
