Just got my AP v1.0 and went out to flash stage 1
I followed all of the directions fine until I got to the point right before you hit OK to let it program. It said to turn the ignition completely off then on before programming, well I read it wrong and wound up starting the car then turning it all the way off then to the ON position.
It still went through programming and said it was ok but when I finished up and disconnected everything the car took a minute to start at first.
Ever startup after was fine. I took the car for a drive and noticed that it lags a lot more now then it did. I have to rev the motor coming out of first to get it to really go. What did I do??
Did I really **** it up?? What should I do?

I think I would re-flash the base map on there again, the right way.

Well, I just reverted it back to stock and when it was all over it still hesitated on startup even stock.
I started it a few times after and it fired right up though.
I dont know what to do.

well you can start by only making one thread for your problem.

I am seriously worried about this and thats why I posted in two different places.

well it's still a violation of forum rules to do so, and will only end up pissing people off and result in them not wanting them to help you.

post one thread, in the appropriate place (for your question that would be here, in the AP forum) and be done with it.

Is it that important for you to have to give me a hard time about that??
Its the first time ive done it here and it was only because I was a little freaked out. I am not new to car forums so I dont need to be lectured.
I appreciate your help in my other posting but giving me a hard time here in this one isnt necessary.

did you turn off your radio while it's reverting back to stock?
any audio system that can drain your battery?
sounded like it's your battery having a hard time...

Seems normal to me. I've reflashed my ecu several times and each time the first start up always takes a little longer than usual. After that, every start is perfect. I have an 06 WRX also.

....ok kiddies...here it is.....the 'longer to start' issue is due to the fact that the ECU was---essentially.....unplugged.
This is a non-issue, and can be 100% avoided if you FIRST turn the key to the 'ON' position and let the relay 'CLICK'---takes ~4-5 seconds.....and THEN turn the key to 'START'.

The rest of it is 100% a non issue due to the fact that the ECU has been re-set in the flash process and is just gonna take a few days or so to get all happy and re-learn.

STOP making duplicate threads.

Thanks for the help, everything has been fine since then.

I dont know what to do.
This is very simple, you have a drive-by-wire vehicle that requires ~5 seconds to calibrate the TPS upon ECU re-flash, ECU re-set, or battery disconnect. Please have a little patience and allow the vehicle to go through the initial throttle-by-wire calibration before you start it. Subaru made the gauge cluster sweep just long enough to let you know that the vehicle is ready to start. Again you do not have to do this every time you start the vehicle, just as mentioned above.

Take care,
Christian.

Later on if you get a CEL and have to reset your ECU, you'll encounter the same problem. It'll take a couple extra seconds to start, and feel weird for the first day.
