Hi,

I'm wondering if anybody has tried an 8w7 or 10w7 stealth install in an Impreza wagon? I'm thinking about putting either 1 10w7 or 2 8w7's in the spare tire area of my 05 WRX Wagon (removing the spare, of course).

Has anybody put a woofer that big in there before? Would I have to do a false floor to make the install fit underneath the cover? I did a quick measurement, and I have 12 in between the floor and the cover, which should be enough to fit one of those 2 speakers. I'm interested to find out what other folks have done with spare tire enclosures on the wagon.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Well, the w7's require quite a bit of depth, and you have to leave space between it and the rear of the enclosure to boot. My guess is you're going to have to raise the floor up an inch or so.

Thanks for the reply. How much space do you figure it will need? 8w7 has a 6.7" mounting depth and 10w7 has 8" according to the site. Based on some rudimentary measurements, I have about 12 " from floor to cover.
