i live in SLC.... got my ap2 today from Solid Tuning and Cobb today.......
well worth the wait.. performed flawless...
5mins to copy the stock ecu program, another 5mins to DL the Stg2 software..
all the on the fly maps load in minutes....
this is a nice, clean piece... very slick. all of the modes work perfect..
car runs smooth and powerful.. very happy with the stg2 program and im sure it will get even better after a few cycles.
also... i would like to say that launch control is a reality in the future.. i say this since, it is easy to witness valet mode bouncing off of 3200rpms or whatever it exactly.. and holding.. im sure this could be programmed for 5+ with boost..
anyways, be patient.. its worth it..
now all i need is a slick mounting system for it on the dash as its nice to view all the reading on the pre-programmed gauges..

that is all... a bit random as im super tired and a bit intoxicated.

What sensor readings can you actually get to see.. does it show OL/CL, fuel pressure.?...

Damn, sounds like it is still alot slower than the OpenSource tools. But I have to carry around a laptop if I want to change maps so that makes the AP alittle better in that respect.

2004 WRX's will flash much faster than STi's. this is more or less a memory issue. (STi ECU's having more)

I tuned an 04 STi today with one.. The gauges were:

RPM
Maf Voltage
Dynamic Advance
Ignition Advance
MPH
Boost
Wastegate Duty Cycle

I think that's all of them, I may be missing one.

The unit is awesome, easy to use, and TINY.. It's nice to be able to upload maps to the AP without needing a serial cable or power cord.

Props to Cobb for another awesome product.

What kind of mounting ideas have you guys come up with?

What kind of mounting ideas have you guys come up with?

I was waiting for this one. I spoke to a few of our dealers a while ago and we could not nail down anything that everyone liked. At this point, I would like to hear where you guys would like to mount it. After some idea as to where the majority would mount it, we can come up with a couple of idea's from there.

Would you like to mount it low, or high up on the dash, in the center, off to the side near the a-pillar, etc....let the idea's flow ;)

I thought about this for some time as well....

some place where you could mount have it be solid while driving, and still removable instantly if needed. I was thinking about making a mold and fiberglassing something... but for the life of me, I can't think of where I want it.
nice
High enough to see / read gauges, yet out of the way and out of mind if need be.

pillar mount would be ideal

Euroauto, did you call in yet? Want to make sure everything is OK for you.

A pillar mount is possible, but it would be tricky to make the AccessPORT removable for updates and what-not, but thats OK...at least we are getting the feeling that the left side of the dash is the preferred place to mount it.

I'd like to mount it exactly where the left center ac/heater vent is. Possibly just make a removable mount on the vent to stick the AP on. Or remove the actual vent and put some custom piece that holds the AP. I think the most important thing is that the AP can be removed when parking the car so thieves don't see it mounted anywhere.

How about just using a generic cellphone/ ipod mount. Kind of like this... (but with the AP2 ofcourse)

Maybe just mount it a bit higher. I think this mount came with a piece to attach it to the center A/C vent as well as the metal bracket.

ya I was thinking over by the left A-Pillar, somewhere around the vents. Out of the way for visabilities sake, and visable enough to make it useful. We shall find out tomorrow >:D

Yes, something simple like that would work, as long as its on the the driver's side of the dash... I like it.

Does the AP V.2 have a screen that has real time RPM or Boost readings??

It has both.

True, but a STI/06+WRX still reflashes in slightly over 2 minutes.

Took me about 15 to copy the stock ECU then flash to Stage 1 for my 06 WRX.

Look at how the Garmin C300 mounts, same thing would work great- side by side or one on each side of the pod..

Does anybody know about a possible speed density option?

STI2NV

As far as mounting... Does the OBDII plug/mini USB get in anyone elses way when driving? I think it's more the cord down there than anything.

If your at the point to need or want speed density then you should be talking to your tuner for that.

yeah it does, that cord is still stiff, i was thinking today about what i could do about tying it up and out of the way

as for mounting, in between the left center ac vent and steering wheel column would be ideal i think
