Heres the system. I work for Circuit City so this entire system is costing me less then about 1,400 installed.

Eclipse 5000 - Headunit
Eclipse DA7122 - Amp
Eclipse SC8264 - Speakers&Tweater *Front*
Eclipse SC6900 - Speakers *Rear*
Eclipse SW9102 - Subwoofer

I still need to choose a amp for the internal speakers and decide between ported or unported box.

Im aiming for CLARITY and VOLUME over bass and loudness.

Thoughts?

That set up looks fine. Maybe consider skipping the rear speakers and putting the money into upgrading one of your other areas. That's just a thought. It really depends on how often you have rear passengers as they are the only ones who will benefit from the rear speakers.

I'm guessing you mean the SP6900 speakers for the rear, which are 6x9. Where are you planning on putting these?

At any rate, I would skip the rears and buy an amp for the front components. They will sound much better if they aren't running off the HU.

I am still trying to decide what Eclipse amp to put towards the internal speakers.

About the rears you guys really think I should skip them? Also what are your overall thoughts on this setup?

If you can afford it add in the Eclipse XA1000 for the sub amp and the XA2000 for the components. If the budget is tight, I would drop the rear speakers long before dropping an amp for the fronts.

^^^ close, but I'm gonna tweak it a bit considering your gear choice.

XA1000 for the sub, XA4000 for the fronts for amps. You can run that setup active with great results. CD5000 is a killer unit, very similar to the old 8053 but with an internal amp. You can always go to a CD7000 as at your cost it's only a few bucks more. I'm assuming you're ordering directly from Eclipse since you work at CC right? If you are that should run you somewhere around $1,100 after the massive discount from Eclipse.

Edit--

Almost forgot, since you work at CC look at the Polk Audio amps. Absolutely amazing amplifiers and at your cost they are an absolute steal. The c400.4 and the c500.1 They will run you around $150 less than the XA combination.

Forgot about this myself. Definitely the way to go, especially since you can run active with just the c400.4 alone. You would need an external crossover with the eclipse amps because the crossovers only go up to 500hz. (Hence the reason I didn't recommend the XA4000 the first time.) ;)

Ah, but the CD5000 has built in active 3-way capabilities with TA ;)

Maybe I'm too uninformed to give advice on NASIOC. :(

BTW, that amp you listed for the woofer will blow both the XA1000 and c500.1 out of the water. I guess I really should have looked more closely at what you had posted. Me FTL.

My only suggestion is don't get too hooked on a one brand system. You will fair a lot better mixing and matching hardware. The reason is no single brand makes everything great. Eclipse may have nice HUs, but most people couldn't care less about their speakers. Other brands do better.

Not really other brands from Circuit City.

And even though you work at Circut city, maybe you can get some stuff cheaper yet on ebay and still install it at your store.\
CD5000 $264
SC8264 $169
SC6900 $45
SW9102 $297
total $775 + amp + install kit
I wasnt able to find that amp so thats why I didnt list a price.

Unless he's going to save a ton of money, which he isn't, it's worth it to have the full factory warranty.

The DA amps are sweet, just suck down some massive juice.

Yeah, you need some variety.

Don't get me wrong, I give a thumbs up to most of the eclipse stuff i have used (except the metal coned subwoofers... slooooow response), but you should go with what you like the sound/stats of, not just a brand name...

I have at least three different brands of equipment in my car, and that's not even that much...

Crap!

Who are you and what do you think you're doing? You are not adding to any thread you've posted to in this forum yet. Every comment has been inflammatory, rude and flat out wrong. If you want to post garbage go to OT...stop ruining the technical forum.

Since these guys don't really dig on the Eclipse speakers (I don't really either) I will suggest a nice alternative that you can still get through Circuit City. I would check out the Polk stuff. Maybe some db6500 comps for the front. The Polk Momo amps are no slouch either. Maybe use the Eclipse headunit and either Polk or Eclipse amps and then use Polk speakers.

May I speak POSITIVELY for eclipse's comps?

Now, maybe things have changed, but way back when, I had a set of eclipse components, and they used drivers from Vifa, a very reputable speaker manufacturer.

I REALLY liked those components, Took a lot of juice, and could maintain really high output... especially considering they were around 150 bucks...

Thanks for all the input except for the one loser above with a single word response.

I appreciate it alot, I also understand that helping me shop from a Circuit City is kinda hard but the deals I get are amazing. Pretty hard to pass up.

hmm Im sticking with the 5000 hu
Probably stay with the same sub and amp I still need to look at internal speaker amps.

I might do the polk component setup for the speakers with a polk amp I'll have to go listen to them at work.

You guys deserve three dancing bananas for helping me.

hey, don't mix match the amps, that seldom looks good, and eclipse amps kick arse anyways. And since you're going with the eclipse sub, you'll have a nice looking matched system in the trunk - that is, if the amps are going in the trunk.

aesthetics is the only real reason not to mix/match amps. Other than that you are fine.

My purchasing suggestion would be to contact dealer sales at whatever brand of stuff you would really like. Explain the situation, and maybe they'll give you wholesale or industry purchase. Why settle for the stuff you only have access to?

I would go for the best sounding fronts you can afford and dump the rears as others have suggested.
