Pulls pretty hard. And I'm still using the stock TMIC. stickman 12-22-2006, 09:13 PM not bad on 91 oct correct? Vaus 12-22-2006, 10:24 PM I think this is the first time I've seen a stage 2 STI with more hp than torque, not to mention that the overall numbers look very low for the dyno... something doesn't seem quite right to me. -- Ed Strng1dah 12-22-2006, 10:29 PM I think this is the first time I've seen a stage 2 STI with more hp than torque, not to mention that the overall numbers look very low for the dyno... something doesn't seem quite right to me. -- Ed 02 wrx crasyboy412 12-22-2006, 10:56 PM I hae the same mod, but without tune at 223 i hope to be in the 270 280 when tune wangless 12-22-2006, 11:45 PM not bad on 91 oct correct? Yeah, it's 91 octane. Vaus 12-23-2006, 12:54 AM 02 wrx Yep.. I realized this on my drive home... was busy at work and posted before thinking... my apologies :o -- Ed Strng1dah 12-23-2006, 02:00 AM Yep.. I realized this on my drive home... was busy at work and posted before thinking... my apologies :o -- Ed No need for apologies. :) B16A2NR 12-23-2006, 02:17 AM Nice numbers for a VF39 on 91. Just curious, how long did it take Harmon to tune and how much did it cost you? wangless 12-23-2006, 02:18 AM Future mods... STi TMIC with JDM 02/03 hood scoop with the splitter TXS stealthback + Prodrive Round or Stromung Dual Tips I want something less noticable and quieter... That might be it for the power mods :D wangless 12-23-2006, 03:55 AM PM sent to you B16A2NR fastwrx25 12-23-2006, 06:57 AM Future mods... STi TMIC with JDM 02/03 hood scoop with the splitter :D not worth the money seriously. The sti tmic the same as the wrx one but larger. Go bar and plate for cheap with the ebay tmic. also ditch your hks dp for something else. If you can swing it get headers and uppipe after you are done with your turboback exhaust. wangless 12-23-2006, 02:47 PM Swap out the up and dp for...? subenerd 12-23-2006, 09:27 PM Swap out the up and dp for...? If you already have a catless uppipe, no need to swap out for something else. As far as turboback...your choice. Keep in mind if you go for the TXS/prodrive you will still have a 2.5" axleback. Most tuners will say a full 3" is *ideal* for a bigger than stock turbo. Dyno looks nice for such minimal mods :) wangless 12-23-2006, 10:30 PM If you already have a catless uppipe, no need to swap out for something else. Uppipe is already catless, it's an STi one. Dyno looks nice for such minimal mods :) Hmm... maybe I'll go with Stromung since they offer 3", including the midpipe section. Homemade WRX 12-23-2006, 11:28 PM seeing this thread and knowing I have alky, perrin IC pipes and more exhuast makes me really anxious to install my parts and see what I can get from my 39. Not too mention 93 octane :) still stock TMIC WagonGGA 12-24-2006, 02:13 AM Does anyone know what is the greatest HP that anyone has made on a 2.0 with a VF39?? Nice setup btw. Must feel great compared to stock. Night and Day Difference. B16A2NR 12-25-2006, 04:50 PM I'm jealous of the power you got from that vf39 with really minimal mods. I'm seriously considering going your route rather than my original plan of a big16. It seems to be a much more efficient for daily driving and every day fun, than a bigger turbo. Question regarding the PM you sent me. Is that price with ecutek licensing or just the tune? wangless 12-25-2006, 06:21 PM PM sent. lancelucas 12-25-2006, 06:39 PM PM sent. Do you have a boost vs rpm chart by chance? Your numbers are awesome...why did you choose to stop at 17psi? I'm beginning to tune a nearly identical setup myself. wangless 12-25-2006, 06:48 PM Do you have a boost vs rpm chart by chance? No. Your numbers are awesome...why did you choose to stop at 17psi? I'm beginning to tune a nearly identical setup myself. Thanks and is good enough no? lancelucas 12-25-2006, 08:29 PM Thanks and is good enough no? Good enough for the girls I date :) Just curious 'cause the turbo certainly has more in it than 17psi, so I was wondering if det/knock became an issue, or reliability concerns, or fuel mileage, or just preference, etc. wangless 12-25-2006, 09:02 PM Tuner's preferance and I had no problem with that. 17psi and I'm putting out those numbers, I'm interested in what more boost could do, but I don't have the luxury of that kind of funding. Currently I'm currently saving up to swap out the exhaust components so that I could try to stay under the radar to avoid potential problems with the local PD. Black car with 15% all around and an exhaust is just asking for it =T Antyoo 12-26-2006, 04:45 AM Tuner's preferance and I had no problem with that. 17psi and I'm putting out those numbers, I'm interested in what more boost could do, but I don't have the luxury of that kind of funding. Currently I'm currently saving up to swap out the exhaust components so that I could try to stay under the radar to avoid potential problems with the local PD. Black car with 15% all around and an exhaust is just asking for it =T im running a vf39 at 20psi(17psi at redline) with a FMIC, header and water injection(straight water) SAE corrected it made 300whp and 286wtq with 11.7afr across the board uncorrected, like your chart, would be 310whp and 295wtq this was also on a dynojet 4wd dyno which from experience, reads very closely to the dyno at harman motive. so with a header, 3 more psi, fmic and water injection its 40 more hp and 55 more tq, and despite the header(not coated or wrapped) and fmic, my peak torque is only 400rpm after yours, and through out most of the power band my car is making 25-50 more hp the vf39 definately has the capability to give you a much nicer powerband. lancelucas 12-26-2006, 05:05 AM im running a vf39 at 20psi(17psi at redline) with a FMIC, header and water injection(straight water) SAE corrected it made 300whp and 286wtq with 11.7afr across the board uncorrected, like your chart, would be 310whp and 295wtq Very nice. I'm attempting to tune to ~18.5psi on pump gas, then ~20psi with eBay TMIC. I'm guessing I'll need to stay at ~11.0 AFR to stay safe :( Did you also tune your car for straight gas? Antyoo 12-27-2006, 02:15 AM so you aren't running a 50/50 meth water mix? yup, thats why i said straight water in my first post in this thread. im a big fan of convenience and being daily driveable, if im low i can go into any store and fill up the tank. when i finish my built motor, im gonna do a straight 91 map, a 91 and water map, a 91 and 100% meth map, and a c16 map, but for now, i just run one map. Homemade WRX 12-27-2006, 11:21 AM 100% meth is a waste thanks to temps in the engine bay ;) Keep it with a water mix for the boiling reasons Antyoo 12-27-2006, 01:10 PM 100% meth is a waste thanks to temps in the engine bay ;) Keep it with a water mix for the boiling reasons well, my tank is in the trunk, so the engine would have to get REALLY hot to heat up the tank in the trunk Homemade WRX 12-27-2006, 01:31 PM true...
