hey guys i just finished ordering some new sti buckets for my wrx head since i was doing a cam swap with the crower stage 2 cams. i thought i had measured everything really good but i found out that 4 lifters are about .001 -.002 off of specs. will that make a huge deal or do you think i should order me some other ones to replace those. thanx

I personally would want my valve lash dead on or .001" off at most.

are they on the intake or exhaust valves??? .001-.002 tight or loose???
If loose on the exhaust, that is not too bad.... the exhaust valves have more valve expansion because of greater heat saturation
loose on the intake will be a little noisy, and that is about the only real deal....
at .002 loose, it will only slightly retard your valve events (to an unnoticable level).....
If they are tight, well, that is not so good on a performance engine....
I would recommend them be the specified amounts of lash or err to the looser side of an extra .001 or .002 on a performance engine with more horsepower and higher RPM capabilities....
Good luck!

i have one loose on the exhaust by about .001 the only 2 that are concering me are on my intake i only have .006 clearance on two of them and 1 with .007. i was wondering if it would affect the performance or if i may even burn a valve by leaving it open to long due to the tighter clearance?

The specs on the Crower cam card used to specify .006" intake and .008" exhaust. Subaru specs are .008" intake and .010" exhaust. Crower cams, at one point, were made with Subaru blanks.
My motor builder noticed the cylinder head shop didn't properly cut my exhaust valves seats - that'll cause burning for sure.
