Well, sure, you think that job is going to only take 4-5 nuts and bolts and you're done. An hours later your scratching your head wondering how the hell it came to this point.

Now, I'll be the first to admit, a real mechanic (or anyone decently prepared with the right tools) will not face this problem, but the guy trying to save a buck installing a down pipe could surely face it.

Here is what brought my progress to a hault with my down pipe install:

The solution? A break, and some good old vice grips. Next issue was a shot doughnut gasket. :(

.....PB Blaster is yer friend........do all exhaust work with the exhaust COLD after PB has been applied/let sit for 20 minutes or so.....Discount AutoParts has a 'HELP' section with all sorts of misc hardware and one of the little packs has bolts/nuts/studs that are EXACTLY what ya need to replace what ha got there
