I live in colorado, we just got over 5 feet of snow in 2 weeks. I dont know if that makes a difference but latley i noticed that my car has been steaming a little out of the hood and it is a distinct "coolant" smell. I opened the hood to see (what I think is dried green coolant) splashed over my engine. What is Leaking and how do I fix it? Do I need to get it looked at by a pro? It looks like something I can do by myself, but i dont know. Any help asap would be greatly appreciated. My car is not over heating.... yet
Thanks alot guys.

step 1) fill out your profile... it really does help for people to know that your '92 loyale is leaking coolant...
since your '92 loyale is leaking coolant, look around the plastic pieces. especially on '02 wrx's, the plastic-metal joints will leak. Mine leaked on the top and I could see coolant residue around there and on the engine. some bars radiator leak stop worked wonders.

I am wondering since you guys are talking about the coolant problem, and I am newbie here and cannot post my own thread yet. I would like to add to this saying that my problem is also coolant related and I can't quite figure out where the leak is coming from. I checked out the two radiator hoses while running the car and I don't see any leaked but I noticed on cold days I will see steam coming from the passenger side of the hood and the odd smelled of burned coolant. But today I discovered where the steam is coming from and I can see a small puddle of coolant on part of the engine which I'm not sure what it is at the moment but It is right under the Intake. I think it might be a waterpump or a thermostat issue but then again I don't have any overheating issue. I also have pictures but cannot post links because I am a newbie. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found out I have a leak where the plastic tank meets the radiator core. I just bought a Koyo all metal radiator but haven't installed it yet. It's gorgeous construction and quality though, it blew me away for the amount of quality that I got for less than $400.. I've seen multi-thousand $$$ intercoolers that look like crap next to this thing. It's just a radiator too, it's really too bad it's not a performance part in this instance..
