I have a 2003 wrx with only one radiator cap on the reservoir, and not on the actual radiator. I am installing a koyo radiator that has the cap on the radiator(was given a free cap to use). Beside the radiator cap on the koyo is a stem however there is no hose to attach to it. Also the metal piping that goes from the overflow tank to the reservoir does not fit well either.
What the hell am I supposed to do at this point? Are the newer model radiators incompatible with the older layout cars?
P.S. I have been searching all over the place and have not found any answers.
Does anyone have experience or knowledge of what to do? Unfortunately I am in the middle of the job with the new radiator bolted up in the car, and would prefer to use it rather than get another one if possible. If not, I don't want to ghetto-rigg anything.
Thanks

You need to get the hoses for a later WRX with the updated radiator/cap setup. Should be available at your local dealer as this is a common upgrade, the old style radiator has been superceded by the newer type. You can also go to a junkyard and pull the necessary parts off of an 04 or newer WRX.

Thanks for replying so quick Mulder. I will definately call the dealership tomorrow morning for a quote on parts.
So it's just an easy hose swap deal?
Does it connect with a T joint to the overflow/reservoir line?
Much appreciated.

Yeah it's a different metal pipe that T's to the cap and bottle, and a couple of small rubber hoses.
Scott,
I have all of the factory part #'s and some pics at home if you haven't already got it figured out. I had to remove my old "1 cap" set up due to a seam leak. I switched everything out with later model OEM parts (i.e. radiator w/cap, upper/lower hoses, newer pipe and the accompanying overflow hoses). ….just let me know. I can send you what you need tonight if necessary.

Thanks Kean,
I just picked up the pipe (45175 FE010) $40. The pipe has two connections on it near the overflow tank for the overflow tank hose and the new hose that's under the new radiator cap. Unfortunately, the three dealerships close to my area didn't have the rubber hoses that I need! I belive the other parts that I need are...
45162 FE010 (this might be the little tube that attaches near the cap)
45162 AE000.
I might try some autoparts stores to see if I can get them sooner than having Subaru order them.
Are these the same part numbers you recieved?
45175 FE010 (metal cross-pipe) $40
45162 FE010
45162 AE000
Thanks,
Scott
These are the parts you need:
PIPE OVERFLOW 45175FE010
HOSE OVERFLOW B 45162FE010
HOSE OVERFLOW A 45162FE000
There is a tsb which lists them (also - these are what the dealer installed when my original radiator started leaking at the top crimp seal)
