How easy should the rear driveshafts be to take out of the rear diff? I re-installed my stock suspension for the winter. When applying downward pressure on the brake rotor to get the holes lined up the rear driveshaft came out of the rear diff. Now it won't go back in all the way, approx. 1/2 inch not going in. I took it for a quick drive (around the block) and it popped back out. Looking at the service manual, the driveshaft should just push in to the diff.

Am I missing something here?

Hi Mate,

there is a snap ring that hold the driveshaft into the diff, you need to make sure this isn't blocking the way of the driveshaft going back into the diff. I had the same problem with my STi.

Just looked at everything again. Pushed the driveshaft as far into the diff as I could, took it for a drive around the block, and it vibrated out again.
Bad-Karma - Thanks for the reply. On the RS there isn't a snap ring according to the service manual.
Still looking for more information.
