I want to replace the pistions. which ones should I get?
I want to buy je forged kit.. std size.. or do i need custom pistions to lower the compression becasue of my jdm v8 heads.. I rember seeing a chart but i cant find it anymore does anyone know what my cr would be using this setup..
or get the cp pistions that were made for the usdm wrx heads.. does anyone know what that means i read it on one crawford performance posts..
Can i reuse my arp headstuds??

I have not seen good results with JE pistons in Subaru applications.
Ross, CP, or Cosworth.

just got done talking with every piston manufacturer and JE's seem to be best to me and will be what I am going to run as well as our shop car.

Where have you not seen good results with JE? Thats the first I've ever heard of that. If I had to guess i'd say they have the best happy/unhappy customer review ratio on here. The most commonly used part is not necessarily the most superior part.
I'd recommend the JE's, and with a shelf piston you should be right around 8.7:1 compression, which should be great with a good tune and decent gas. I am actually getting custom pistons to raise my compression to 9:1 and to get a better quench pad, but its all more money. Other things worth considering are an offset wrist pin to keep tihngs slightly quieter, ceramic coating the tops of the pistons, and a moly skirt coating. All of these are very nice, but of course are extra.
Find Nick@JE on here... he is the one who taught me about my options and I'm sure he can help you too...

cosworth pistons are JE pistons but they have the cosworth name so they charge 2x as much. JE are the best pistons to use

Thanks for all the input I guess I will go with JE.. 8.7:1 compression is what i will end up with my jdm ver8 heads..
thanks Wrinkleboi for the info..

one thing i was wrong about is that his username on here is actually Nick@JEPistons... dont take my word for everything, talk to Nick or someone at JE about the purchase before you go for it just to make sure you're getting whats best for you.
