Does anyone know the purpose if the vertical metal bad in front of the condenser/radiator? Can it be removed or cut?

erm...
question... why would you do that???

things like that are there for a reason.. i would not go about removing a piece that's there to structurally support the car....

i am sure it COULD be removed...
and am sure it probably should NOT be removed...

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">You could call it structural- it holds the whole center of the front bumper on! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif You dont' really want to remove it http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif.

Hi there,

the main purpose of the bar is to provide structural rigidity to the top beam where the hood catch goes.

It doesnt connect to the bumper.

I initially cut it out and installed a new bracket to support the hood catch to the bumper beam (required or the hood catch doesnt work)

Since then I have removed my hood catch and use bonnet pins now, so I dont have a front vertical bar.. loads of frontal area http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif
