I am thinking of swapping from the stock OEM hood on my 97 Impreza 2.2l L(ts) to that of the one found on 98-01 Impreza RS and Outbacks.

Im pretty sure that the hood in interchangeable but I would like to know if the scoop off a 2002 bugeye impreze (larger scoop) would fit as a bolt on to the 98-01 hood?

no, the scoop 97-01 OBS/RS/WRX hood scoop bolt paern is different than the GD body's scoops. there are aftermarket larger scoops that look like the v8 (04-05) STi scoop that do fit ur future hood.
