Okay I know I have seen a post before to do this, but I can not seem to find it. I mearly want to change the lighter/power outlet in the ashtray on my 07 Imp to always be on. I do not want it to turn off with the car, it makes it a right pain to charge my phone.

As I said I know there use to be a post here on it, just what the link is I have no clue.

Also does anyone know of a good looking way to install some sort of power adapter on the backside of the center console? Something which will look like it belongs and not hacked togther.

get a fusebox tap and put it on the fusebox on a circuit that doesn't switch off, run the wires to your ciggy and make it look good. just make sure to
unhook the originals. it should be pretty easy though, good luck mate!

You can also get one of those piggy back terminals that tuck in behind the fuse blades where the fuse plugs in. Solder some wire to the spade and do the same at the other end of the wire. You can now go in behind an always on fuse and connect that to the ciggy fuse. Just go from the "dead" side of the off fuse so the ckt will be guaranteed some protection. The cig fuse is the most common one blown...coins in socket etc. It also powers up the diagnostic link to where u hook up a scan tool.
